The Deer

If you don't want them in your yard eating your flowers and stuff, take some human hair or dog hair and put it in a walmart bag and tie it about their height. They will smell the human and dog scent and wont like it. Plus the rattling of the bag if it is windy will spook them and they will leave. Sometimes wind chimes keep them away too. They don't like the noise.

I love watching them too. I use to feed the birds and would get all kinds of animals coming in. I even had a family of foxes. They were so cool to watch. I shot video of them but lost the vcr tape.

THanks guys for the advice. I dont mind them in the yard, its the garden I dont want them in LOL! I'll make a scarecrow and tie a bag of hair to it, to see if it works for the garden. Thanks again

I wish I would've known about the human and dog hair in the bag when we were living in the country.  We had alot of deer that would come through our yard.  I love to watch them but hubby is a big deer hunter so I use to try to shew them away when I would see them.  Although he never shot one that was in our yard.  Wish I had some ideas for you........

Part of me wishes we could have deer in our back yard but here they are classed as a pest and do not have a long life span.
My DS and DIL have kangaroos in their back yard and they hate it. They kive in the outskirts of a city and they eat every thing.
Nothing will keep them out they have a small dog which they let run in their back yard. They are going to have to put a 6 foot fence up to stop them.
