Well, I have a major meniscus tear thanks to me working out. I was stupid and tried to do some exercise tape that required me stepping up on a 12 inch step. Twisted my knee when I stepped down. So now I have to have surgery. I go see the surgeon Tues. I don't know the fibro. is gonna react to surgery. Right now pain is bad all over and my knee is killing me. What a mess I am in. I am very worried about surgery. I had surgery on my other knee a few years ago and it hurt real bad.

Please pray for me, thanks.

Sheila~So sorry about your knee. Will be praying that you will take this in stride, and that everything goes smoothly, and you will heal at lightning speed. You weren't being stupid! You were just trying to take care of yourself by exercising, and you made a mistake. Just let me tell you that you are not alone! (((Hugs)))

Sheila Im sorry about the fact that you have to have surgery to repair the knee and like missy I will be praying that your recovery time is fast. I know you can do this because us fibromites can handle alot more pain than a normal person. Keep your chin up, in a year it will be a memory. :-)

I'm so sorry; it's always something, isn't it? You definitely were not stupid. You were trying to take care of yourself and had an accident. Best wishes for a text-book surgery and speedy recovery.

Sheila, I'm so sorry. Think of the surgery as a means of getting rid of the pain.
Focus on the healing before the surgery and being pain- free. I'll be praying for a
speedy recovery.

Sheila, you poor thing. I'm so sorry. I agree with Shirley that we fibromites can take pain better than most people. In fact, when they say, "this is going to hurt" I'm coming to realize I'm like, "you're kidding right? That's nothing - I can take that." You're a tough cookie cuz you already deal with pain. This surgery will help get rid of the excess pain. Will definitely say prayers and send good vibes. Please let us know how you're doing on this. *hugs*

Sheila, I've had several surgeries in my time including 4 knee surgeries. Surgery hurts no doubt about it (and fibro plays it part too) but unfortunately the knee won't fix itself and you'll be stuck right where you are or even get worse. I came to think of the pre-op pain as destructive, tearing down type of pain but the post-op pain as constructive, renewing and healing. If you think of it that way you may look forward to the surgery so you can move on towards that healing. I really hope things turn out for the best for you. Knee pain is no fun at all. Lisa

You've gotten so great advice here.  The surgery will be over in a hurry and you will start to heal and feel better.  It will be wonderful to be able to walk without that intense pain!  I'll be praying for you.

Knee surgery is no fun. But just think of it as the lesser of two evils as far as pain goes. You will recover and be in much better shape.

Be brave, you can handle this. And we are right here with you.
