Yes, we all have been through these experiences. But, once you find what helps with your pain and get it under control, you will be fine.
Did you read Fibro 101? There are some ideas there and also explanations of supplements that have helped a lot with pain and fatigue.
Laying in bed and sitting too much will make your pain worse. You do need to keep moving. Start out with gentle stretching exercises. Then start walking. When I started walking, I could only go four houses down and had to turn around and come back. But I kept doing that and I could go farther and farther. Now I walk my dog at least one mile in the morning before breakfast. I don't feel like going but I know I will feel better and have more energy by the time I get home. It's great getting out of the house and seeing the beauty all around me, too. I also do all my own housework. I have to pace myself but I get it done...not in the same time frame though.
Try moist heat, too. You can get a Bed Buddy at Walgreen's and other places or you can make one by taking a tube sock, filling it 2/3's full of raw long grain rice, and tying a knot at the end. Pop it in the microwave and it gives off moist heat. Of course hot showers help loosen you and ease the pain.
I hope you are feeling better. You can do it. I know that because I have. I've have had a great life so far in spite of this illness. Attitude is hugely important, too, along with a good sense of humor. I hope you have a doctor that believes in fibro and is willing to help you, too. I only use over the counter meds like Ibuprofen with food and extra strength Tylenol, along with supplements mentioned in Fibro 101. These give me control of the pain so I can lead my life and still be clear-headed. The heavy duty stuff is horrible for me. It knocks me out. Let us know how you are doing.
