Looking for a good doctor in Pittsburgh

Ok, long story short I have all of the symptoms for fibro and it even runs in my family. I have been to the Allegheny General Hospital 4 times now, 3 of those times being Emergency Room visits and the most recent being a trip to the neurologist department. All of those times I have been pushed away, told there is nothing wrong, give me pills, and now they say call back in 6 months. I am sick of the bad doctors at that hospital, the kind of doctors that look at you funny and do not pay any attention to what you have to say.

I am looking for a good doctor in or around downtown Pittsburgh, someone with extensive knowledge about fibro and other conditions that are similar.

Are you in the North Hills or the South Hills. There is a Rheumy that finally gave me a diagnosis by South Hills Village.

Hi Torden, sorry you are going through Dr. problems I cant help you with the Pittsburgh area but I just wanted to welcome you to our fibro family. We have alot of great people here who are always willing to help. Hope to hear from you again soon and hope Denise or someone else here can help you with a good doc.

GSDgirl: I am in downtown Pittsburgh. I live in Shannon Hall, the dorms to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. So I am not sure where I am at.

Hi, glad you posted back.  You are not a native of Pittsburgh but going to school downtown?  The Rheumy that I saw is named Ghassan Alayli and he has an office downtown.  He did not seem like he was willing to give meds but he did give an official diagnosis.  Or if he did I would have had to have seen him every three months.  (sorry, I forget things) There are other doctors in the practice also.  Addy is:

No I am not a native of Pittsburgh, I came here for school and I must say I really like it here. Ironically not 5 minutes before I posted this I found the exact same office that you just posted. turn I am going to give them a call tomorrow because they leave at 4.

Things work in mysterious ways sometimes, don't they?  I'm glad you like Pittsburgh.  I do not go "downtown" unless I really have to or as likkle as possible.  Starting Friday there is a giant Rib Fest at Heinz Field Stadium with some good bands each day and it is FREE.  If you are in school the free stuff probably sounds good (not that you are poor or anything).  I live by Century 3 Mall which most likely some students may have mentioned.  South Hills that is.  Good Luck and let us know how it goes.  I don't think I waited long for an appt. smurf

That is awesome to hear about free food. Oh, as for the poor thing I can honestly say that about 75% of the students here LOVE free food. ^_^ We are practically like puppies running for a food bowl when the first bit falls in.

I will be sure to let everyone know what is going on. ^_^

No, no, no...........not free food but entry into stadium and the concerts are free.  Sorry about that blush
