Hello all! My name is Ashley.

I am just starting on my journey, I had some bloodwork done for my yearly physical and was found to have really low WBC counts, so my PCP sent me to a rheumatologist. The first (the mean one) rheumy ran tons of tests and diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. I didn't like her so I found my new rhuemy who I love and she confirmed my fibro Dx and also said it looks like I may have Lupus also. She's ran test, including an MRI and Xrays and I go back Nov 8 to see the results from that.

She started me on some meds for both the fibro and possible SLE. (There all in my siggy as well as some of my other Dx.)

I am a SAHM to two children, a boy who's 7y/o and a girl who is 22m. My husband works for us in the oil industry. We all live in Houston, TX next door to his parents and they help me a lot when I am down or can't seem to get moving.

Well that's pretty much it, i'll be happy to answer any questions and I look forward to getting to know you all a little better and having a place where everyone can understand what im going through.

Welcome to the HW fibromyalgia forum. I am so pleased that you have joined us. You will find that there is a wonderful group of members here and that this is a nice place to come. Very informative.

Check out the fibro101 thread. I believe it is first on the forum. There is a wealth of information there and you will find it an interesting read. I hope that you check it out.

I too take abilify, I noticed that you take it. It has helped me tremendously with depression and for the fibro too. And so many of us are low on vitamin D3. I find at this time of year, it helps a lot.

Welcome to our little lifeboat of hope in a sea of pain. Everyone here is very helpful so ask away if you have questions. Also, please read the "stickies" at the top of the forum. Fibro 101 is very helpful.
I'm Jeannie and have had fibro symptoms for most of my 59 years that I can remember from age 3. Trying to manage while earning a living with my hubby & daughter, son-in-law & granddaughter from my home based bakery. Daughter has fibro as well.

Hang tough, girlfriend. We can do this together.

Hi Ashley and welcome to our fibro family, we have alot of great people here that do understand the frustration and pain that you are going through. Im glad you have found a dr. that you like as our drs. are a big part of our pain management. I have had fibro since I was young also and Im 50 now so there is not much I havent experienced with fibro. Always feel free to ask questions, vent or offer advice to others. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Hi Ashley, welcome to the forum. I'll probably smack myself when I find out (oh well!) but what does SAHM stand for?
II'm glad you found a doctor you like and can work with. That's half the battle, in my opinion.

It really is the hardest job. No vacation time, or personal days off... but I love it.

Welcome Ashley. I'm glad you have joined us. Hope the new meds give you some relief soon and the bloodwork rules out lupus for you! I too, recently diagnosed with fibro and am waiting for results to see if I have lupus too.
