Savella

I am on my 3rd day of Savella so far good.   I can feel a difference in the pain level. I just hope as they increase my dosage, I don't become sick and have to stop it.  Now I just wait and see what happens and wait for Thyroid results.  Thank you guys for your support.

I tried Savella for a few days.. did ok on the 12.5 but when the time came to go to 25 I turned into something evil! Never really stayed on it to notice affect ony pain. After explaining to dr that i threatened to run a lady over, he took me off it.

Hi, hoping Savella works for you. I've been lucky...I've been on it for over a year
with no bad side effects...taking 50 mgs 2x daily and it has taken the edge off
the pain...still considering whether to increase my dosage.

I have been on it for a month. I absolutely love it. I have my life back for a lot of things. Of course I still have issues here and there but I can go out for lunch with friends!! What small victories I get to exprience with medicine!!

Fibro2010, you really should do a search on this site and read some of the other discussions about Savella. Many people have had bad side effects and had to stop taking it.

Be especially careful if you have high blood pressure.

Spirit- I would suggest not being afraid of this med. I have had serious side effects from most meds that I have taken. I have been labeled "medication resistant" and "medication intolerant" and I am able to take this one. As with any drug there is always the possibility of side effects, but with the help this med has given me, I would hate for you not to try. It has really been a life saver for me. If you do have side effects you can stop, of course, but I would hate for you to miss out on the best thing that has happened for me. Welcome to our family. I am sorry about the circumstances that brought you here, but I am glad you found us. This is a great place to ask questions, find info, vent, whatever you need.I really hope things get better for you and the savella works well.

I am also someone who has had many side effects from a variety of meds through the years, but I don't let it stop me from trying a new one that might provide relief.

I did go on Savella for about a month and it was wonderful for relieving some of my pain. I experienced sweating and some of the other side effects that many people report -- although inconvenient, they were tolerable. Then the headaches began, a little at first, and then worse and worse. It felt like a vice-grip was tightening around my head and it was going to explode. (I had a similar experience on Lexapro years ago).

Unfortunately, that meant I had to stop. :-(

I hope you have better luck and that this is YOUR miracle drug. We all deserve to find something that works -- whether it be one thing or a combination of things. I've learned it takes patience and there are many frustrating days (which is what brought me to this sight in the first place), but with the wonderful support system that is provided here, I think we can get through even our worse days.

If nothing else, it helps knowing that we are not alone.
