Appointment with Neurologist / Malar rash

I've been trying to find a rheumy but am having a difficult time finding one who treats fibro and takes my insurance. So I got a call from my doctors office saying there is a neurologist who takes my insurance in a town about an hours drive from my town.

The thing is I just had a bad experience with the last specialist I saw and I'm nervous (wasn't a neurologist). I don't have any significant neurological problems that I know of. I do have bad fog at times, bad concentration, and there are moments when it's so bad that I worry because I really don't want to get worse. I also have depression and anxiety but I don't think those are issues for a neurologist.

I just don't know if I should see this neurologist. What if he looks at me like I'm crazy and asks me what I am there for. I really just need a rheumy, I think. Would it just be another waste of time?

I'm also curious if anyone else has a malar rash. I noticed in the fibro 101 symptoms that a malar rash was sometimes present with fibro, I have never heard that before and thought it was interesting. I often get a rash across my cheeks and nose, looks like a mild sunburn.

That is the very first specialist that I saw when I started on this journey. My nuerologist was SO helpful and they did so many tests to rule out other things. They were a big help in narrowing things down for me.

J.P. Don't put alot of stalk in what DR's say. Sometimes they just like to hear themselves talk. But do what you have to. If what they want you to do doesn't feel right then don't do it. It might save you alot of time and money and stress.
