feel like crap

 I recently started on cymbalta and Lodine and now feel like crap.

My stomach hurts, I can't focus, I have no engery and I just feel weak.

Has anyone else had this response to either one of these meds? By the way I am new here, hello everyone. confused

scoobydo, I take Cymbalta and have had no problems. The other med you talked about I have not taken so I can't help you there.

Have you looked these meds up on the internet to see it this is a common side effect? Generally if it is a side effect, it will go away in about a week. I hope that is the case for you.

Welcome to the forum. You have come to a very good place where everybody is so kind and supportive.

Do check out the thread called fibro101 when you get a chance. It has a wealth of information in it. There could even be something about your medications there. I hope that you find it helpful.

Hi, Scoobydo, and welcome!  I'm glad you joined our family.  I do agree with Karen.  If you didn't have these problems before the meds, it probably is a side effect of the medication you are taking.  Sometimes the side effects of medication are worse than the illness.  Some members have gotten off the meds because of that but always speak to your doctor about that first.  Some meds you need to wean yourself off.

 

As Karen mentioned, please check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibro and you can learn a lot there.

Marty, I used to have bad cramping and spasms in my feet and calves.  My doctor prescribed Quinine and it worked great.  Then I started taking calcium because I have osteoporosis and guess what?  The calcium took away the cramping and spasms!  So, I checked on line and, yes, a calcium deficiency can cause cramping!  So, you might need some calcium.  If you love milk, you are home free!  Give it a shot.  Those foot cramps kill.  My feet would spasm, especially in the middle of the night, and even look deformed.  I'd jump out of bed and have to try to stand on my foot and stretch the muscles and tendons to help stop the pain.  Ouch!

Sorry I've been away my modem to the internet got taken away by accident.

 

Now I like milk also but it's not enough so you should take Calcium also. My feet get cramps so badly that my whole body curls up. I hate it when that happens.

Thanks for all your help, I will check out the Fobro 101. I have had FMS for almost 14 years, but I am still learning about it everyday.
It was the Lodine that was making me feel sooooo bad. I called the doc that ordered it and she is ok with me not taking it at all. It is a NSAID...famous for hurting the GI system.
I am now using an NSAID patch (never knew there was such a thing), called Flector Patch. It is working well without the GI problems.
