Brain stopped functioning :(

What is wrong with my brain?! Does anyone else get such a brain fog?
I know I laugh mine off when in company but it's highly frustrating!!

It's like the other lunch time I rang up the doctor in desprate help for the Migranes' I suffer with.
(I am an undiagnosed Fibro / CFS patient.)

I told her how I feel how I get and that I suspect I have CFS / Fibro or something simular.. She said 'Well you need a proper appointment for that' (nice eh?!)
I told her that my usual doctor dismissed the idea because I am ''raising children'' little does she know or recognise how much I rely on my husband!
She gave me TWO tablets and basically, they didn't work.

Anyway, When I got to the reception desk.. only a few hours later I said.. I'm erm here to see.. Oh god what's her name and had a totally blank mind, I couldn't even think of my normal doctor's name!!

And now, today, I started saying something in a meeting, was rudely interupted and then I just couldn't remember what I wanted to say!!

I feel like I'm going mad and I hate it.

Doctor appointment on Friday, let's hope she bloody listens to me this time, if not I have no idea what to do now, where to go now. Maybe back to the One I saw for my Migranes. :(

I have that problem all the time. where am I going, who am I seeing, where is that item I just sat down...and the list goes on. Most of the time I just take a deep breath, empty my mind and start over. If I don't then I get frustrated and that makes it worse.

On the other note, raising children doesn't make you immune to diseases and other disorders. If that was the case everyone would have at least one and there would be no such thing as cancer, lupus, ms, etc, etc. I cannot believe that your doctor would even say such a thing.

I would find another doctor that works with fibro patients and also has compasion for her/his patients. Compasion, understanding, trust and communication go a long way with a good doctor/patient relationship and it sounds like all this are missing with your doctor. Finding the right doctor can be all consuming but worth it in the end. I absolutely love the doctors I have working with me. they don't always have the answers but they listen and they offer means of treating my symptoms and they have never said I was exaggerating, faking, seeking drugs, etc, etc.

Hope things are better with your next visit. Write things down as they come to you that way you will not forget things when you finally get to see the doctor face to face.

One time I was in a store and they needed my phone number.  Do you think I could remember it?  Nope!  I had to pull out my checkbook and read it off my checks. 

 

If someone interrupts me, I'm lost, too.  Sometimes I do the interrupting because I know I'll forget it by the time the other person is done talking.  I don't do that very often and I've explained why I do that occasionally and my friends do understand.  I'm really thankful for that. 

 

You have to laugh it off.  It's irritating but getting upset about it and worrying about it seems to make it even worse.  I know I'm smart.  You know you are smart.  We just have an illness that causes this to happen so we must laugh it off.  Don't worry.  You definitely are not alone in this.  I'm taking out stock in Post-It Notes!

I totally understand! I have the same issue and eventhought I've been diagnosed with fibro, my doctor doesn't seemed to know about the fibro fog??

I agree, and it made perfect sense.

Does anyone else get this:
When asked on the spot you remember OLD information??
We moved house nearly 2 years ago but I still try and give people the old telephone number / address?!
Especially when in a fog!!??
