Hi, mysoulsings! I"m sorry you are having such a bad time. Karen gave you some good suggestions to help with fatigue. I might add that staying in bed could be playing into it, too. Many times I get up in sooo much pain. Just trying to get to the bathroom has my abdomen hard as a rock and I can barely breathe. I use a cane when getting out of bed. But, once I'm up I do a little stretching and usually within 15 minutes I'm better. I still have pain but not as bad. Once I get up and moving, this gives me energy. I do walk, too, and that helps. I walk my dog for one mile a day plus all the walking I do around my house. Actually, anything you do around the house counts as exercise and this helps keep your muscles strong and does help with fatigue.
You might want to talk to your pharmacist about the meds you are taking and see if these could be a reason for your great fatigue. Medications can do a lot to you and it's not all good, either!
Also, I use malic acid/magnesium supplements and they help me with pain and fatigue. There is a link about them in Fibro 101. They don't work for everyone but it might be worth a shot! Be sure to pass this past your doctor. My doctor said they wouldn't hurt me but he thought I'd be wasting my money. I tried them and he was wrong!
Why don't you print off some things in Fibro 101 and have your husband read it. Good links would be Doctors Respond To New York Times Article and also A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. He may not believe in fibro but he is dead wrong. It is recognized by the American Medical Association, the American College of Rheumatology, the National Institute of Health, and the World Health Organization to name a few. Have him Google "fibromyalgia mayo" and the Mayo Clinic site will come up. Why would they discuss fibro if it didn't exist? Hmmm....
Now, please don't feel bad about sending your child to preschool! It's one of the best things you can do for your child! I was an elementary school teacher many years ago and the children that went to preschool had a head start over the other children. I have three children of my own and they were put in Montessori School when they were three years old! One of my daughters was reading the newspaper, knew how to use the index to an encyclopedia, and also could add, subtract, and multiply when she entered first grade in the public schools! When they are young, their little brains are like sponges. So, you really are doing a wonderful thing for you child and it's wonderful of your husband to work extra to give your child this advantage.
Lastly, fibro is not a death sentence. When your child asks if you are going to die, reassure them that you will not die. You are just very tired right now. I do urge you to start moving, as I mentioned above. Set small goals for each day and pace yourself to complete them. You should become stronger and have more energy. Laying in bed just makes you weak.
You really can live a full and enjoyable life in spite of fibro. You can learn what will help you control your pain and fatigue and then you will learn how to work around this illness. It sounds like you've kind of given up. Don't do that! You are young and have a lot of living to do. Look forward to tomorrow with anticipation and see what you can accomplish. Little by little you should start to feel better about things. Let us know how you are doing. We really do care about you.
