I have a question about seroquel. The other night I tried it at 25mg and noticed I woke up with no anxiety, no racing thoughts, no irritability and usually I wake up and my feet and hands hurt but that morning they were totally pain free, all day too! How is that possible? Has anyone else had this happen before? I didn't take it last night as I was curious how I'd wake up today...in pain. Thank you in advance for your replies!

Thats great news and I love hearing some positive once in a while !
I haven't tried this. But I'd be interested in seeing how you keep doing w/ this. Keep me posted ! Hugs.

I take seroquel and it does wonders. I take zoloft in the am and seroquel at night. That combo workd good for me but I don't notice any difference in my painful hands.

I have never taken zoloft but that night I took a morphine, amitriptyline, diazepam, a couple of Bone Builder pills and woke up in no pain for once!

My reason for adding seroquel was because I was at the highest dose of zoloft.  I'm thinking that the other drugs in your coctail might be the reason for no pain.  I have never taken any of those other drugs, my husband would have a fit......he has fits about taking lousy soma.

I only like Steeler football!!!!  never miss a game (on TV)

LOL, that is the cocktail I take every night and wake in pain most days but not that day. Ok, so what is zoloft for? Im too lazy to look it up lol.

zoloft is an antidepressant and seroquel is a anti D of sorts.  It says it is an antipsychotic, not that I am psychotic or anything tongue

I take 50mg of Seroquel at night for insomnia. Switching between lunesta and ambien worked for awhile but I'd wake up the instant it wore off. My nighttime cocktail of 50mg of Seroquel, 3mg of melatonin, and ~30mg of valerian root inside a nightime tea I use.

I wake up with my anxiety greatly lowered and feel awake and alert without fatigue. Its a glimpse to how things use to be. Its short lived however usually going away after about 20 minutes. I used prozac with it (to get off cymbalta) which worked quite well with the seroquel. As of now its the only medication I found that has helped. I am going to ask about Lyrica on my next visit to help also.

Im glad to see someone else receiving improvement.

Thanks for the info, it greatly helps! My friends are always asking me about Lyrica (neurotin right?) if it is neurotin I tell them I won't touch that stuff with a 10 foot pole after reading the horror stories! BUT, I know 3 people personally that use it and swear by it. I like my cocktail thus far but have been dealing with more flares and fibro fog.

I think it might be the fact that I worked for 6 months for the first time in years or maybe the weather, tho this year for me was different as I usually don't fair summer very well, but I did awesome this last summer then it was all down hill towards the end of Oct!

Do you feel that the seroquel helps with pain at all and anxiety a lot? I have been using the Diazepam/Valium as a muscle relaxer and now also for anxiety but sometimes my anxiety is overwhelming. I look forward to your reply!

I have been suffering from anxiety my whole life with spurts of insomnia. I also have (what they believe to be) chronic fatigue syndrome that comes with fatigue, fatigued muscles and lots of pain. Which gets really bad after exercise or any busy day. Some pain has been there for years, however, the extreme fatigue and extreme pain have been part of my life for three years.

I just started taking Seroquel yesterday. I was really scared to take it and at first wasn't sure that I would even take it. The doctor gave it to me because I have been feeling depressed lately do to not being able to have any sort of life a 32 year old should have and having insomnia since July. I was also told it's time to file for disability insurance.

Today I have been in a fog but it's a different kind of fog then I'm used to. I also have a lot less pain then normal. So I am hopeful!

Sorry, I can't say much about all of those hard-core prescript drugs..... except, please be very careful with that stuff ! I tried a few of those, and they did much more harm, than good, but maybe that's just me.... Maybe I'm just a 220 lb, muscled up "wimp" ;) LOL

Welcome daphine to the fibro forum. Hopefully you will get some good results from the seroquel. I am going to wait around and hear the results. I might be interested in taking some if it works. Sorry to hear that you might file disability. I had to myself 4 years ago and yes it does make you sad at the time. It took about a year just to stable out to not be so sick. Now I can rest when I need to and my stress is limited, so I am much healthier then I use to be.

A lot of people who have Fibro also have anxiety/stress issues. Many have PTSD (I do). I have been told that a small dose of seroquel takes the edge off and in turn, helps with sleep. As far as having my pain etc. disappear - no. Effexor did that to me once (what a tease that was), but it eventually came back. I'm no longer on Effexor, because of the side effects.
