Hi Akasya~~
Welcome to the Fibro Family! I'm very happy you decided to join us because we all need someone to talk to who totally 'gets it'.
First off...please don't apologize for 'complaining', venting, unloading, dump, sound off, deposit, divulge, reveal, partake, participate, wail, whine, impute, carp or objurgate (<---wonder what that one means) even if it's on your first visit...lol
It's why we're here. If we all were doing well there would be no need for support groups but because we all suffer and understand each others' pain we can come here and say what we need to say and we are accepted and loved no matter what. Okey, dokey??...lol
Has your hubby ever gone to a doctor appointment with you. Even if he has it would be well worth him taking some hours off work and accompany you on your next visit. If it were me I'd send a short note to the doctor ahead of time or try to talk to him on the phone, and let him know that he's coming and why. My husband and I have a 'secret code' sort of, when we are feeling bad....like if I'm hurting and he is the one who has to do the dishes. We just hold up our hand with the wedding ring on it and give a smile and a wink. It reminds the other one that we're in this together as they say, for better or worse. Education is most often the best tool to solving problems.
Getting the folks at work to understand might be a bit harder. I imagine you've thought of all kinds of things to say but only you know the people and can choose what might work. Maybe talk to your boss about
it and swap chores that are extra hard for you to do physically for others that won't add to your pain...much.
I truly admire you for being able to work with the pets!! That's not an easy job. Maybe some people come into the store and don't think much about
the people there who care for the animals but it's way harder work than any of us imagine. On a sideline...any thoughts about
looking for a different job? There's a reasonable chance you could get some retraining via community college or vocational school. If you want to talk more about
it just say so or you can email me ... either way is fine by me. I taught for many years at a community college and would be happy to share what I know.
And as most people around here know, I can't write a short note...lol So it's time to get my caboose moving and say good night./~
Hugs,
Chutz
