AMZ, have you talked to your doctor about adding more magnesium to your diet or take supplements? I'm taking malic acid/magnesium supplements and am getting about 700 mg of magnesium a day, when I also count the magnesium in my multiple vitamin. This might help you. There is a link in Fibro 101 about the malic acid/magnesium. It has help members on this forum, including me.
The reason I'm suggesting this is it is very unusual to be in a wheelchair with fibro. I use a cane but only at night when I get out of bed to use the restroom. I'm very stiff and sore. But most of the time I'm fine without a cane. There are some members that need to use a cane more but rarely have I seen people using a wheelchair for fibro.
Also, did your doctor run you through a battery of tests to rule out other illnesses that have the same symptoms as fibro? There is a link on Fibro 101 called What Else Could It Be and these things should be ruled out before a diagnosis of fibro is given because they are illnesses that can be helped.
My heart breaks when I hear stories like yours and you are so young. I know I would keep looking for things to help and also make sure the doctor ruled out all the other illnesses. I'm stubborn and a fighter and I just never give in. I really want to see you have a much better quality of life. I'll be praying for you.
Meanwhile, just take one day at a time and keep moving the best you can. Do the stretching exercises and keep walking, even though you need a cane right now. You might strengthen those muscles and eventually be able to put that cane aside some days. It's worth a shot. Can't hurt and just might help!
