Hi, I'm new and I have a question

Hi, Redial, and welcome!  The MRI is a good test, from what I have heard.  If you have MS I believe they would see lesions on  your brain.  Also, I'm sure they did blood work to rule it out, too.  We have to have quite a few illnesses to be ruled out before a diagnosis of fibro is given because we have many of the same symptoms as other illnesses that they can test for.

 

Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibro and you will learn a lot there.  There is a link called What Else Could It Be.  This will show you what they are checking for with all of their testing.  Also, The links called Symptoms and a Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia are good starting points, too.

Hi redial and welcome to our fibro family, we have wonderful caring and supportive people here. As far as your question concerning MS the MRI would show lesions as Sherrine said. I have fibro and my husband has the MS. His is alot more of brain to response to things. His arms and legs wont work the way he wants them too. Also he does not have alot of pain although I have heard of some people with MS having pain. He still has alot of strength just hard for him to do things because he gets exhausted easily which is alot like fibro.
Heat totally takes all of his energy so he does much better when it is cold where I cant stand the cold. Showers together for us ended a long time ago. lol

Thanks very much. This absolutely helped, because my husband and I recently went on vacation and I loved that jacuzzi tub every night before bed. It made me feel like a million bucks after walking around shopping, etc.. all day. I sure wish I could get one for my home.
