Hi,
Anyone on Savella? I'm on day 3, nothing really going on but some headaches, which I had in varying degrees before starting it.

Is it working for you and how?
I have been on Lyrica (swelling- discontinued) Cymbalta (did nothing), Neurontin (still on)

It messed up my stomach, so I had to quit. Other than that, I felt great on it. No aches or pains and slept well too. I hope it works for you. Couldn't tolerate cymbalta either.

I think it ridiculous that they insist upon prescribing anti-depressants and call them “fibromyalgia medication” This is so discouraging. I’ve had fibromyalgia for 20 years. I’ve tried all medications and I assure you an anti depressant is not the answer.

Was on Savella for over a year. Loved it. I still had flares but nothing like now. I have IBS-D and it was the first thing in 25 years that helped it. I only wrnt off it because my busitis got really bad and cant take meds for it with Savella. When I was on Savella it was all I took besides my Thyroid meds. I think the best thing is it helps the fatigue so much. Antidepresants work because Fibro is a brain thing not a muscle thing. The antidepressants help our brain which helps our symptoms. At least that is what my Dr. told me because I DID NOT want to take a antideprssnt. I have been told that I was not a nice person while I was on it. After reading it can cause you to be angry. So heads up, wish I knew that before I took it. If I go back on it I will have to learn to control that. All I know is since I have been off it I am a MESS! Hurt all over, so very tired. I had to go on FMLA could not function at work confused   Good luck, hope it helps you.

So far no problems on it. I am a bit sleepy after I take it, but I think that's good because I have a tendency to stay up really late,
No other side effects, the headache is gone also.

Everyone is different. I had no help from Savella or Lyrica but had a bad reaction to Cymbalta. These are the "3" fibro drugs. I constantly thought about how I could die, like 6 or 7 times a day on Cymbalta - I didn't want to walk down the stairs or drive my car. I did the wrong thing by going off the medication without tapering. Why I'm telling you this is that I then tried the other 2 and they didn't help or hurt. but I tapered off because of the Cymbalta experience. So the only advice I have for you is if it works - great! - if not taper off with your doctors instructions as fast as you can. Good luck!
