I was talking with my PCP yesterday, told him the rheumy has diagnosed fibromyaglia, which didn't surprise him at all. He agrees that we have probably now found the cause of my headaches, which we have been trying to figure out for years. He then told me that flares can happen for any reason, even a sunburn can cause a flare. Anything that effects us in a different way than normal can cause these flares. He asked me if I have much stress in my life, asking it with a sheepish smile on his face because he knew the answer. He then told me he would not say the same thing he knows I have heard from others...stop stressing so much! He knows this is much easier to say than to do, yet he wanted me aware of the fact that stressing will cause flares. He told me the worst thing about
fibro is the flares, saying it's not progressive, not life threatening in that sense, nor will it go away forever. I am thankful he is a believer and not blowing it off.
When I go to Michigan on vacation, it's an 800 mile drive. By the time I get home, I need a vacation from the vacation. I am sore for weeks, exhausted too. I always figured it was my neuropathy, now I think it's probably a mixture of both, fibro and neuropathy.
