HI I AM SUE FROM SYDNEY JUST FOUND OUT I HAVE FMS I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN FOR 20 YEARS WITH A CURVED SPINE WOULD LIKE TO FIND PEOPLE TO TALK TO IN AUS about THIS CONDITION.

Welcome to the fibromyalgia forum. I am so glad that you have joined us. I do think we have a few people from Australia that are on the forum. I am sure that you will hook up soon.

I am so glad that you have joined us as I said above. There is a thread (first one on the forum) called "fibro 101". There is a wealth of information on there if you get a chance to read. I am sure that you will find it helpful.

Keep checking your thread. There will be others on soon. It is kind of early here. I hope that you have a great day free of pain and fatigue.

Hey there, I am from the central coast in NSW and have just got my firm diagnosis this week! I too have a curve in my spine...weird huh? It's all so confusing.

Welcome, Sue, to the fibromyalgia forum!  I'm so glad you found us and joined our family.  Even though many of us are in the US, this forum allows us to really get to know others in other countries as well.  I think you will like it here.

 

Karen gave great advice when saying to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibro and you will learn a lot there. 

 

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.  Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  I hope to hear more from you soon.  Oh, by the way, I have a curved spine also...from scoliosis.

hi all my name is annie from sunshinecoast queensland australia female age 72 yrs young cannot remember the last time I was without pain luckily I have a great husband who help me with everything from pulling me out the bed in the mornings to hanging out the washing the doc has put me on lyrica but I dont feel any different still taking my tramadol twice a day and panadol osteo 3 tomes a day now the lyricas 2times a day but today has been a bad day I now have to walk with a walker aid and aS I was a tap dancer until 2yrs ago I dont like this feeling I have osteo arthrites now the doc says I have fibro evey bone in my body aches so bad and I am so exhausted all the time just want to sleep and sleep and that is not good so I force myself to walk round the block everyday just 15mins each way but by the time i get home wow I am just blah anyway all for now

Welcome, it took me about the same time to get a diagnose as well, and my journey started in Sydney and now I'm in Adelaide. And it wasn't a direct route. There were plenty of other stops along the way... I've even been called a pin cushion by a doctor once...

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn how to manage your fibro better and great support. I have from Alaska. My dad work Had several Aussie friends and I got to meet them. Had so much fun with them. They taught me so much about Australia. I Have a qualia bear made out of kangaroo fur and plays Matilda.

I know I have grown from this site. I am doing so much better. Asking questions and trying new things is how I got started. I educated myself with a good book on fibro. It seems the dr's are in the dark on lots of info I learned from the book and here.

Hi there I am new to this Forum so I apologize if i am repeating what other members may have already posted.
about 12 months ago I noticed that when I step out of bed i get a pins and needles sensation on the ball of my right foot. I took myself of to 5 different podiatrists, surgeons and had xrays ultra sounds and mri's done. not one person could tell me what was wrong as nothing appeared on the images. Then recently I started having this crawling sensation on my scalp, so i immediately thought I had lice and bought some lice treatment but it came back. So i started googling crawling feeling in scalp and came to a post made by someone who was diagnosed with Fibro, i found it very similar so googled Fibro symptoms and both foot and head condition I have been suffering with came up. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue when I was in high school and have suffered with anxiety attacks since I could remember, I also have IBS (although not professionally diagnosed) so it would seem like I may have Fibro. My question is where do I go from here? Many thanks
