I am just loving my I pad. I am disable and sometimes I didn't have the energy to sit at the computer. I love the netflex the most. If I am having a restless night in bed I can kick it out. I put the ear phones on don't bother my hubby too much. I am on a budget because of disability, so my husband got a refurbish one for around $320 on line. I don't have the new one with the camera, but I did't need it. I am little slow with technology so this thinks whole lot faster then me! Lol. I was going to get a nook, but it does so much more. I just wanted to share this because it seems to help my FM. Really! My mind occupied, less anxiety. I play memory games for my cognitive problem too.

I get a lot of tremors and pain just from holding my touch screen phone, and I have an ereader but it gets hard to hold in bed sometimes too. So I'll stay away from the tablet pcs for now, even though I really want one, LOL. Glad you're enjoying yours so much, though! And that it is helping you cope. That is great.

Moonsinger-I've heard that there are stands you can buy for ereaders, or maybe a laptop stand would work. I was thinking about investing in one before I had the ganglion cyst removed from my wrist (caused a lot of pain) but still might because I'm also prone to fibro wrist pain. If you know someone who's handy, it would be easy to make a lightweight custom one from some plexiglass and a silicone baking mat on top to help keep it from sliding off. Right now I use pillows to prop up my Kindle in bed.

ak angel, I have a verizon galaxy that hubby bought me after he saw how many books I read on my laptop. I downloaded an app from Amazon and got the free or 99 cent books. I take the galaxy to bed and it helps me fall asleep within a half hour, thankfully.

Glad you like your Ipad.

I spend a lot of time in bed (wheelchair bound) and I currently use my iPod. The teeny screen kind of makes my vision play around from reading it so long. I would love something larger like the Ipad.

My husband said that while it costs the same as a laptop, we should just buy a laptop. But, my sickness comes into effect. Sometimes my hands can't pick anything up that weighs a bunch and bunch and then the overheating of a laptop also causes a problem. I would have to have a lap table and i can't sit up sometimes so it is a pain to think about.

This is all why i haven't bought either yet lol. Hoping for a lower price for ipads. Either that or i keep my ipod and get one with a camera in it which i want so bad lol.

Decisions decisions lol.

Shanbr, you should look into the I pad. It has a case covering you can buy and you can turn it a certain way that it Holds itself up. If you dont want to hold it. This I pad I is around 320 on line from apple. You can make the words or picture large print. It is a computer. You can read books, magazine,I get all my news on it, face book, play games, my favorite is movies, I pod, u tube and more. It really has lifted my spirits, sounds funny I know. Maybe you can start making yourself an I pad savings!

I have a disabled friend who wants an iPad for himself, and I think it will help him as much as it does you. :)

I have a fabulous Laptop.. and another laptop that is very slow that I keep i case my laptop now has problems and has to go in for repairs.

I am itching to get an IPAD2... but do I need one...lol
I have a Kindle DX the bigger one and should have gotten an Ipad2 instead
I have used the Kindle maybe 3 times for 20 minutes each time so it is brand new and has two leather covers. I guess if I could sell it I would get the Ipad2 64 bit......wifi dont really need 3g as I never go anywhere except to the doctor......

they are very expensive tho.. but they are great and one could get a keyboard to go with it.

I got WFI service at home , I don't pay extra to carry it around. I don't go any where very often. I have a nice big computer also. I just love it be ause it's handles so easy. Like today, I sat on the porch and watch my NBC news from there app. On the I pad. I am a news junky and they have good app. Sites that are free. The best is watching my netflex movies in bed. Sometimes I put earphones because of my husband trying to sleep.I got a refurbish I pad and it has no camera. This meets all of my needs. You would of never known that it is refurbish one. Came in a brand-new box also.
