Do these symptoms sound familiar?

Hi,

Ive jumped over here from the lupus forum. I have not been diagnosed with anything yet. Going to see a rheumy on 6th July.

My symptoms have been gradual and progressive over the last year. My main symptoms are:

Recurring Joint and muscle pain - intermittent and migrating like flu pain, started in legs migrated to arms, seems to radiate around joints..comes and goes

Fatigue - constant tiredness, extreme fatigue and weakness when flaring. Unrefreshed sleep

Muscle spasms/twitches - not painful just really annoying, like a pulse, can happen randomly anywhere in body...getting them every day now. Feeling of lactic acid in muscles without doing exercise

Muscle weakness and stiffness (unable to open jars, keep arms above my head, sometimes feeling like I have sprained wrist/ankle without injury etc)

Recurring Lower back pain feels like sciatica, same area(buttocks) but muscle. Pain in shoulders, neck abdomen area

Eye pain - stinging sensation in eyes...comes and goes. Seeing spots when standing up too quick or moving head fast.

Occasional vertigo

Brief Dizzy spell when lying down

Numbness, pins and needles and tingling sensations in arms and legs

Headaches

Frequent Urination

Slight prolapse of cervix

Decreased sex drive

Blood blisters on torso

Occasional Mouth blisters

Nail changes - loss of half moon in fingernails, red band at tips

Rash on nose (treated as roseacea)

Recurring rash/swelling on fingers ( dx as Lupus pernio in 2007)

Cold hands and feet

Occasional jaw pain/stiffness

Occasional disorientated/detached feeling

Was tested by GP for Lupus...negative result.

Any of this sound familiar?

BTW: Im female, 28, 2 children aged 6 & 2

Thanks for your reply nana68, hope u are feeling well today. Just had a look at the Fibro 101 that karen recommended and all i can say is Wow! Yes they all sound so familiar to me. Theres a whole lot more that I never thought to include like:

mood swings, brain fog, unusual dreams,

Occasional morning heaviness like theres a weight on top of me that i find it near to impossible to get out of bed and move,

a new sensitivity to the sun (came out in a hot burning rash on cheeks, non itchy heatrash on arms and legs while on a recent holiday in france, made worse by sun exposure or makeup/moisturiser)never happened me before. I was on tetralysal for roseacea on nose so i think this might have made me more susceptible to photosensitivity. Either that or I got an allergy to the suncream. Lasted one week.
sunburn feeling on my skin,
ears ringing, alcohol intolerence, night sweats,
vag yeast infections, heel pain.
Facial numbness only lasting a few seconds at a time.

My aunt through marriage has fibro and it was she who suggested that I look into it as my symptoms mimicked hers.

Im taking magnesium supplements for the past 3 mths but I cant really say they are making much difference. The constant twitching/spasms are very irritating. The muscle pain comes and goes. My Gp prescribed me solpadol for pain but i only take them if I really need to as I dont want to add to the spaced out feeling!

It feels like I have so many wacky symptoms its so good to see that Im not alone and that im not going mad. My hubby thinks im a hypochondriac. My mum who was so concerned about me at the start doesnt seem too concerned anymore. Anytime I say i have a pain she seems to change the subject!! Its really not nice to be in this much agony and not be taken seriously. I could be fine for 2 mths at a time then comes back again. Hoping to get some answers from rheumy in July.

The only thing Id question are the recurring rashes....im sure all my symptoms are connected. Fibro alone would not cause rashes would it? When i was dx with Lupus Pernio in 07 it was through a skin biopsy. I was px dermovate ointment (anti inflammatory corticostoroid steroid) and the symptoms disappeared only to reappear this year with all the other symptoms. thats why i think they are all connected somehow

Most of it sounds familar, but not all I don't have

the cervix issue,

no blood blisters

nail issues

 

but most of it at one point or another, yes, yes and yes. I don't think I have lupus.

 

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site but I seem to have most of the symptoms described above. Unfortunately I have no insurance and no diagnosis yet, just a ton of hospital bills, last weeks visit alone was $10,000 and all I left with was a referral to a doctor I can't pay for and a RX for vicodin which doesn't really do a darn thing. I'm an unemployed 31yearold single mother of 1-5 yearold princess. As I type right now I'm crying because I just got off the phone with my mother who suggested that the pain is all in my head since my pain doesn't happen all the time (if I'm lucky I have 24hrs in a weeks time that I feel so-so) and my family gets angry with what I do when I do feel ok, I.e. Take my daughter to the park. Heck ya, I'm taking her to the park if I feel well enough to drive the poor little thing suffers enough already. This is probably the wrong forum to spill all this but I have no Internet besides my iPhone and it's not the easiest to navigate. I have applied for MSI but there's a 6-9 week wait for approval. I've been to the hospital 5 in 3 months and thinking about going today but I'm afraid they may think I'm looking for drugs, in a sense I am, I'm in so much pain all over. I'm having one of my worst attacks yet. Any recommendations or advice?
