Pelvic pain

Ok, so I have FM, PCOS, authritis, and extensive cardiac issues. For years I have dealt w/ ovarian cysts, some ruptured. I have had my gallbladder and appendix removed years ago. Lately I have been having intense pelvic pain that radiates down my right groin and thigh. I have been to er, obgyn, family doc and no one knows what it is. I would have sworn it was an ovarian cyst, but it is not. They did blood work, ultrasounds, CAT scans, xrays you name it they have done it. I hurt so bad, and they make me feel like it is all in my head.

Has anyone felt this pain? Is it th FM? It is enough to drop me to my knees in the middle of a store...I need answers...I need help!?

I have also had pelvic pain in the past due to back problems. At one point, I had been to numerous doctors for a pain in my right side that had lasted for several months. None of the doctors seemed to be able to determine what was causing my pain. It was written off as being everything from Irritable Bowel Syndrome to stress. I was beginning to doubt my own sanity. Then, I made the association between the pain in my side and back pain that I was having. I scheduled an appointment with a reputable chiropracter, and I felt instant relief. He explained that I had a condition which causes my back to curve forward. When this happens, it can put pressure on nerves that are in the pelvic area. I still occasionally have this problem, and the pain usually seems to start in the pelvic area as opposed to the back.

Hi im new to this site but have had fibro since I was 24 and im now 36. it actually has been not to bad for me but flare ups during certain times. I get back, neck, chest, rib and shoulder pain and it seems to have a massage seems to help. is your pain a real hurtful pain or a aching pain? i was on Elavil< currently off it but thinking about starting again. my sleep is weird.....some night are fine and others i will start to fall asleep and feel like im startled and then can be wide awake. very strange. i live with flexal in my bed and seems to help>
Let me know if other expierence the same. Shotness of breath is also a concern>

Hi I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems like this. I had endometriosis starting at age 18 and hysterectomy by 24 because it would not stop from coming back. If you have had cycsts before then it could very well be that..I experienced that as well and you are right it will drop you to your knees. I had several cysts that burst too and while it was quite painful when it happened shortly after it was such a relief. The endoscopic surgery to check isn't bad at all..very worth it for me. And while they are "checking things out" they can fix the problem and give you options before hand on which would be best if something is found.
On the same taken I've had those pains after the hysterectomy as well. But they weren't as severe. I have ibs as well and not to be gross but if you get too constipated with it as I can at times and it gets even a little compacted it can press on some painful areas. I usually find it helps a lot to take a mild laxative.
Anyway that's my experience I do hope you find the answer you are looking for and some relief!

Just out of curiosity, does the pain come on spontaneously or with movement? I know for me, my endometriosis pain is just spontaneous, worse at certain times of the month. My nerve pain related to my back and sacroiliiac joint is/was brought on with movement.

Have you kept a pain journal? I know that has helped some people on this board pinpoint/describe their pain. Also, several people here have had laparoscopies (I've had 4 done) and might be able to share some helpful tips if you decide to go that route.

I hope you are able to get some relief soon; I know how frustrating it can be to have "mysterious" pelvic pain.

Hi Fern. Welcome to the HW family. Sorry you have to be here with us though.

I kind of wonder if the pain are feeling is from your hip joint. When most people say hip they think of the outside top of the leg but the actual joint is in the pelvis. I have had some problems with that joint and your description sounds kind of familiar. The reasons for hip joint pain could be many such as small bony irregularities in the cup and socket structure, slight dislocation, etc. Maybe you could mention that thought to your chiropractor and see what he says. My chiropractor was able to help me and I now rarely get that awful pain.

Fern, I've had those pains. I went and saw OBGYN and told her and she said that it is most likely due to the Fibro. I get the pain you describe plus if you touch a certain part of my womenly area, I'll shoot through the roof with pain. Dr did want a pelvis ultrasound but never had it done. Just haven't had the money to do it. It comes and goes all the time! So yes, there is someone else with the same pains! It's horrible! Look at it this way, u're not alone. They also wanted me to see a pelvis specialist but again, no money. Good luck because it very well could be the Fibro!
