Back in the good old days, when I was only dealing with chronic pain from an accident injury (hahhaha!), I was seeing a pain management pyschologist and was asked to do a pain journal. I discovered that I had a lot more pain, more often, that I was willing to admit (so, the opposite of what the journal was supposed to accomplish) and that I was focusing on it too much for my liking.
So I'm with you on that front - yes, pain is there. But distraction can help, even a wee bit.
My goal is to get myself organized enough to do a bit of my hobby again this week! Or maybe save up enough energy to do a bit of weeding in the garden. Hmmm.....not sure which one, but certainly something fun and rewarding!
