I can relate to this as well. I work full time as an Office Manager and assistant. I have been out of work most of this past week. I usually dont miss work. I hate missing work. I also need to work in order to pay for the mortgage. I do not have children. I have two dogs and my husband works offshore, so he is gone often.
I used to be very anal about the house being disinfected and spotless with everything in its place. I had to change. My floors used to not show signs of having two small dogs, but now, especially during the summer months, they pretty much always have grass on them. I cannot stop the cut grass from coming in on their paws, unless I clean them each time they come back in from pottying. They are yorkies, so they are really close to the ground. I gave up bending down and cleaning their paws fairly quickly. They have small bladders and have the ability to potty 15 a day.
I also took some good advice from my mother in law. She told me that a clean house is not something that should come before pain. Kids needs and feeding myself and tending to the dogs are worth it, but not having a spotless house. My house is clean, but it is no longer spotless and Im ok with it.
My wise mother in law also told me that if I die tomorrow, nobody will say, "Its a shame that she didnt have a clean house when she died!" I love my mother in law and that statement has stuck with me tremedously.
I cannot do more than one thing in one day either. I have been needing to grocery shop for two weeks now and I hoping to go tomorrow. Wish me luck
Hope you all are feeling well.
