Could this be Fibro, playing games with my body?

sad  Last weekend I had symptoms of a UTI. Monday came and I was symptom free so let it go. It hit me again Tue. night and was really bad yesterday but when I got up this morning I felt fine. Called my urologist anyway and went in to see him. He didn't see anything wrong but will know more tomorrow when the results are in. This has happened before with neg. results and Dr. is not sure what is causing it. He put me on TheraCran for about 5 mo. now but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Just wondered if it could be fibro related as it seems to come and go. Anyone else ever experience this?

I have been fooled so many times with fibro that now I wait for about a week to see if the symptoms go away. Most of the time it does. My symptoms are usually from my fibro. Those Urinary tract problems are no Fun. I try my best to drink lots of water when I have those symptoms. It really helps. Sugar will make them worse also. Bubble baths are not good also.

Yes...I have had this also.  Several times I was put on Microbid before the results came back only to have to toss the pills.  Now I wait and see what happens.

I started typing a reply and lost the post arrrrghhhhh!!! All this to say that you might have interstial cystitis, which is an autoimmune condition. I was dx with it in my 20s and there is specific treatment for it than can make your life better. Caution about over attributing new symptoms to FM.

Thankyou all for your replies. I got my results today and there is no sign of infection but  Dr. is still going to have me take Bactrim DS #3. eyes

maybe talk to him about intersitial cystitis, if the discomfort continues or this becomes a frequent occurence.  Some people are able to control their IC with food or beverage avoidance (anything acidic etc)

Don't drink cranberry juice. We've been told to stave off UTI with cranberry juice, but drinking it will worsen interstitial cystitis, because it is irritating to the bladder.

Yes...I was having cronic symptoms of a UTI...they tested me fir intersticial cystitis and said I did not have it. It all made sense when I was reading the comprensive symptoms of FM.
