I definitely feel like I've "sprained" different parts of my body pretty much on a daily basis. I also get lots of muscle spasms and twitches.
Pain usually signals that something is "wrong." In fibro, that helpful alarm system gets it's wires crossed, and we often have pain without an identifiable source/cause. That is definitely anxiety provoking, and it causes many of us to pay more attention to the pain and weird symptoms, causing even more anxiety. It's a vicious cycle. We find ourselves wondering, "Is it the fibro, or something else?" I wish I had an easy answer for you on that front. It's hard to know what to be concerned about
.
It seems to me that you are doing the right things and seeing the "right" kind of doctors to rule out other illnesses. Get a second or third opinion if it will put your mind at ease, but if you are diagnosed with fibro, the good news is that it is not life threatening. It can be a bear to deal with, but you can live a long, fulfilling life with it.
YOU ARE NOT CRAZY! It just feels that way, lol.
Many of us have had to deal with the depression/anxiety that often accompanies a chronic illness. I've also dealt with the problem of worrying "too much" about
my health. That is pretty common too in people with chronic illnesses. Does your insurance cover seeing a counselor? There are counselors out there who help people cope with chronic pain.
I hope your appt. goes well in Feb.
