Planning trips around prescription refills

Anyone else have difficulty planning getaways because of prescription refills? My insurance company will only allow refills so many days before I run out. Some of my meds come from the local pharmacy and others  are 90 day quantities that are from a mail order pharmacy. I've

added a couple more scripts since I last traveled...feel like I'm taking a mini pharmacy with me when I go.

I'm trying to plan a trip to Wisconsin in mid February for a couple of weeks...trying to find a time frame that works out. It would be easier if all my meds had to be refilled at the same time...unfortunately it is one big mess...I have a handful of specialists and they all are responsible for writing the differant scripts. Figuring out when to purchase plane tickets is always troublesome. Any suggestions?

I dont have any advice, but I hope you find fun in Wisconsin:) I live here and cant stand the cold. Thankfully we have only had a dusting of snow so far this winter. Hard to believe.

I also use auto refill for the mail order meds...I need to figure if my meds will be sent far enough in advance since I'll be gone for two weeks. Some meds seem to be mailed out with at least a couple weeks supply remaining and other meds are shipped out almost down to the wire. I will have to give the pharmacy a call to get it all figured out.

A good size makeup case has worked out well for my med bag and like you, I pack the meds that I will be taking that day in a zip lock bag. I bring all my meds in their original script bottles...just in case, during an inspection, they don't think I'm a drug pusher...lol....and as many times that my luggage has been lost or delayed, I always make sure my meds are carried on.

Going to Wisconsin during the winter is always challenging...I've been flaring down south, and I figure I can flare just as well up there...and I miss my family. It seems when I go during the winter, a blizzard will arrive shortly after my arrival....don't see snow often anymore and it is pretty :)

My insurance company has done "vacation over rides" and let me refill a little early. Call them and tell them when you are going out of town and they should help you figure out what you'll need to have filled early before you leave.
