Does anyone have any problems with their toes and/or feet being really cold, even in socks & shoes? It could just be that I work in a meat department, but I swear to you, I could not feel my toes at all today until just a couple hours ago. And it was that kind of cold that makes you hurt, like my toes were falling off cry Just wondering.

Also, I was wondering if anyone has a book that they used when first diagnosed that they would recommend? I have one, but Id like another so that Im more informed. Thanks!

I'm always cold. Not unusual for me to sleep in a sweatshirt, socks(some nights my slippers too), fleece pj bottoms and electric blanket. If I'm at home and sitting I'm under a heated throw with socks and slippers on. At work I have to go in and out of a walk in freezer and cooler several times. I run in grab what I need as fast as I can. By time I finally warm up I have to go back in again.
Heated socks would be great.

Jeden I am not sure if you been tested for raynauds. It's common in some fibro patients. Their really not much you can do if you have it. The most important thing is keeping your feet and hands warm. Have you tried the feet Warmers and hand Warmers? The feet Warmers are just like a sole that fits in your shoe. Just peel the backing off and it activates it. The heat will last up to 8 hrs. I promise you that your feet will be warm. You can buy them at Walmart in the camping section.

I have a problem with the cold and my feet becoming painful. I make sure to wear warm enough footwear in the winter and warmer socks then I don't seem to have issues.

Have you touched your feet to see if they really are cold?  My feet will feel like blocks of ice and hurt but, when I touch them, they actually are quite warm!  Weird, huh?

Does your hands become cold easily? Cuz I have that and it's probably cause by symptomatic anemia...it takes me a good hour to heat my hands and feet when they are cold

Yes...I was dx with Reynauds a month or so ago. My half sister has it as well. From what I read it can go along with FM and is not uncommon.

Reynauds Syndrome is when the veins in the hands and feet that spasm due to lack of blood flow. It you notice that they are turning white or blue..you need to have it checked out.

Angel, thanks for the info about the feet warmers. I will look for those when I go grocery shopping on Monday.
Sherrine, I have felt my feet and toes before, and they really are cold--frosty, even. My boyfriend says its like cuddling with a Butterball turkey (my rear gets cold too lol). The other day, my toenails were even blue. Ive also seen them turn white when I get in the shower. I usually wear socks all the time, and sometimes little slippers, and Im always under a blanket of some kind.

I used to have problems with my hands as well; one would always be very cold while the other was warm, and the part of your palm that is below your thumb? Mine used to go blue.

BTW, I'mNotCrazy, heated socks do exist :) They are used by hunters. Check it out:

Im another one that is always cold, my hands are the worst and often turn white and loose all feeling if I'm not careful.

I like the blankets with the feet pockets :)

My whole body is always cold but I would agree that my feet and hand get the coldest. I hate it. No matter what I do I can't warm up

oh yes! My feet toes will feel so cold that it will feel like someone is stabing them or then I cant feel them. but I will have others feel them, to be told they feel fine. weird

I get the same thing. Sometimes my hands will tingle cuz they are so cold

My dh told me he almost bought me some of those hand warmers for my stocking at Christmas, I wish he had!
ak angel, the feet warmers sound very comfortable. I was always worried about them feeling bunchy in boots. I'll have to check those out, maybe I can actually play with hte kids outside!

I wear gloves inside sometimes, I just can't get my hands warm.

do they feel cold all the time?,, certain conditions make it worse,, I can tell you in my case it was about 2 years ago ,, if I walked acorss the blacktop driveway,, my feet would burn way out of proportion,, now its year round,, evenin winter, if i take teh dogs out,, and there can be snow on the ground,, my feet will feel like there buring,, I have been tested,, and found to have small fiber neuropathy,, this WILL NOT show up on a EMG, ,it can only be detected by a punch biopsy ,, a GP can do it if he has been trained,
I am thinking of writing a book on the medical community who abused me, didnt belive me and almost having me commited,, when if fact the evidence later on showed I was not imaging all this when bloodwork started to come back odd,, and I showed small fiber neuropathy after a biopsy,, but who would belive a person when they scream that water hurts,, you cant touch anything cold,, and how things just were falling apart,,
