I was diagnosed with having Fibro last year. It tends to run in my family, my grandmother had it, and my mother and sister have it. Is it normal to have tingling in your face?

I have been having this "sensation" for the last three days now, where it feels like the last of novocaine's wearing off, mainly on the left side, but it feels as though it's on my bottom lip and jaw, and a small section of the jaw on my right side too.

It's not too aweful, but yet it's there. I've also had tingling going down my left arm, into my hand and fingers.

I've had this a few times, but it goes away. Is this a normal fibro symptom?

Yes, tingling is one of the symptoms of fibro.  It can be a symptom of other things too.  I get tingling in my hands and fingers.  I had carpal tunnel really bad at one point so I think the nerve in my wrist is just acting up. 

 

I have also had the tinging on my face.  It occured by my jaw and my upper lip.  It is frightening when things like this happen and I decided that if I continued, I would see my doctor but it did go away in one day. 

 

This is the problem with fibro.  We have so many varied symptoms that are symptoms of other illnesses too.  Not everything is caused by fibro.  So, I do get things checked out just to be sure.  I did this when the heart palpatations started with me.  Now, when I get them, it doesn't worry me at all.

 

If these continue, definitely talk to your doctor about it.  It's better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, I also have numbness and tingling in my arms and my face. I don't give my hands and arms a second thought anymore. For my face, I believe the nerves are compressed or overly sensitive, I don't know. But I also get nerve pain in my face and mouth.

Thank you both for your responses. It's so hard to tell with me because of all of my anxiety issues, but they have been under control lately due to my medications. I used to get really bad tingling with panic attacks, but this feels quite different.

Like I said, it's not bad, just a mild sensation, but annoying none the less. Trying to figure out whether it's coming from the fibro, anxiety, or peri is quite difficult. As all of these have tingling sensations listed as symptoms....

I should also mention that I wake up quite often clenching my teeth, this in turn makes my jaw hurt, and I wonder if this has any bearing on the tingling issue. I'll get it figured out one day! LOL

When you mentioned the teeth clenching, I thought about TMJ, which many with fibro have.  I did a little search and look what I found!  Maybe this is your problem.

Fox 7....Sherrine beat me I was just going to mention that my daughter had a similar problem and it was her bite she got fitted for a mouth guard and now she does not wake up clenching and tingling has subsided. Let us know if this was your problem is, it sure sounds like it could be.
