Hello all you wonderful people,
I posted early in Jan about concerns I was having during an Aussie heatwave re my health and work placement I'm doing for my degree. I was fearing my health was heading downhill and I wouldn't get to finish my placement which meant not finishing my degree (placement is the final thing i need to do for the degree). Well, my health picked up when the days became cooler so I started looking for jobs for once I finished my placement. Just when I was lamenting that I would never get a job because the jobs ads were all for the other side of town and/or required 2+ years of experience, I was called in to the Manager's office and asked to interview for a job.
AND............I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!
It means that for the rest of my placement, I will be paid (a huge help) and I only will be working 3 days per week instead of at least 4 which is what I'm currently doing and getting so tired from.
I thought I'd share this good news with you all because not even 10mths ago, I couldn't even shower without collapsing and was bedridden due to CF and Fibro. I had been like that for 2 yrs and many, many times despaired that my life would ever change. And here I am, finishing my degree and employed as a Social Worker. I sincerely hope that this little bit of news provides some glimmer of hope to those of you who are really struggling with your health.
