Long list of Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Hi I am new here. I read list of fibromyalgia symptoms and most relate to me.  Rheumy said have lupus even though ana only 1:40 and anti DNA came back as indeterminate 5.  I was put on Gabapentin and plaquenil.  I recently went for second opinion at ny dr (I moved to Fl 5 hrs ago). All my med problems started here the ny dr took tests again and a lot more to see if have lupus which he doesn't feel I have only ana came back this time 1:80 but still on low side of high. No other tests came back positive or abnormal except creatine kinease which came back low ny rheumy SaiD have fibromyalgia not lupus and would not have put me on the drugs I am on which really aren't helping anyway so still on them for now went to neurologist yesterday and wants to up me on gabapentin since not helping and am on such low dose I have an appt next month with new rheumy in Fl that ny rheumy recommended so was going to wait it out a month So not sure what to do but dont sleep like now  . I'm miserable.

Have you checked out Fibro101? They have put together some fantastic information. Did you say never walk barefoot?? Oh my!! I am always barefoot and didn't realize until I went for emg testing that I apparently have extremely high arches..the doctor giving my test kept going on and on about my high arches..I just never really had issues and never paid much mind to it...well I am now..I'm noticing this morning the pain seems to be extending to the entire bottom of my foot..I may have to go see a podiatrist but I'm not going to take any shots..I've had those in so many places on my ole body and I'm not going to do that anymore. It just doesn't seem to help and if it does relieve the pain it is very short lived..

I wanted to tell you that I was on Cymbalta for a while and had to change to Trazadone because the Cymbalta was just to expensive. The Trazadone was like 4.00 and the best part about this old school antidepressent?? it helps you sleep!!!! seriously...I have no hangover feeling..I do take a bayer asperin at night with it, to help heart preventive things and because the trazadone can leave you with a residual headache. You may want to talk to your doctor about it..

Another thing I've just begun is weaning myself off sugar and those bad ca ca sugar substitutes..Like so many other fibromites I've gained 15 lbs in over a year.. so, I'm determined to get some of this off!! and I've been researching about sugar and especially corn syrups stuff like that...bad bad stuff...

I wish you well, ask lots of questions, again read over fibro101. The moderators here are very knowlegable and kind.. This is my fibrofamily!!!!

hang in there...also have you tried melatonin? natural sleep aid..

@fibronana thanks will look into it. Yes I was told have very high arches as well. It took and still does take a lot of getting used to wearing then proper shoes all the time and not walking barefoot. Not to mention lot of money buying the right shoes and when went to special shoe store got my true foot size which was totally off and had to rebuy shoes. Very frustrating. I still get pain just not as bad and manageable now

Why is it when you look up fibromyalgia on other sites they don't say anything about all the other symptom you can have with fibro.?

nana68 - that bladder infection with no bladder infection - I had that and it turned out to be a prolapsed bladder. You might want to check with your urologist or a pelvic dr. to have it checked and good luck-I hope it's just fibro!

A lot of us have gone so far down the rabbit hole that there is no return trip,, I know I have small fiber neuropathy,, I know I have been told I have Fibro,, and was reading yesterday that 30% of people with fibro develop a small fiber neuropathy,, so dont be so quick to say that some of teh stuff is fibro,, there is no reason why a person should suddenly become cold insensitive,, truth is, this is a problem with the nerves closest to the skin,, the ones responsible for sensations, when you start to trip and fall over your own feet,, again dont be so quick to relate it to fibro,, this may be a problem with the motor nerves,, the ones responsible for walking, arm movement,,
I have had problems for over 5 years,, and still have yet to be Dx;ed, they kmnow I have SFN, and sicca,, and yet after so many test and test, I got only this to show for it,, been told its a sereonegative sjogrens syndrome,, but who knows,, I just watch my body lose more every day, it seems in the last month things have gone from bad to worse,, I now have no feeling at all in my fingers,, there just sticks,, no fine motor skills,, I am tripping more,, and a family that has no clue,, I love them to death,, but since I am a man,, and supposed to be the head of the house,, they look at me like Dad is ok,, he would never fail us,, but dad is failing,, hes gone to far down teh rabbit hole

I just found this today and I have all but just a handful of the symptoms. Nut I was just wondering does anyone have pressure in the head with fibro? Thank you for this list, it has helped me a great deal.

I just found this site today and I also have all but a handful of the symptoms. I have an upcoming appt. with a Rhumetologist.I don't wish these symptoms on anyone else, but it's finally good to know I'm not alone. I've had osteo arthritis (knees)since 17. Now at 48, both knees need replacement. I'm tired, feel like I have the flu, hands hurt, feet and legs hurt ALL THE TIME!!! I go to bed and wake up feeling more tired than when I went to bed. If I sit for more than 10 minutes I'm stiff, I get up in the morning I'm stiff. I'm either extremely cold or extremely hot and don't forget the night sweats!!! For, at least, the last 3 years I've gone to several dermatologists for facial breakouts. One said adult acne, one said Rosacea nothing seems to work.
I'm sorry I seem to be ranting. If anyone can give me any tips for my upcoming appt., I'd appreciate it.

I just found this site, it's great. I'm 50 and was diagnosed with Fibro in 2004. I was hospitalized with my first migraine in 2001 but no one made the connection then.

The list of symptoms is interesting, i think i have or have had at one time most of them. I have had SEVERE tinnitus for probably 25 yrs or more. It's beginning to interfere with my hearing.

I don't take any prescription meds with the exception of Midrin for migraines. I can't take regular migraine meds because of my Raynauds, it's contraindicated. I consider myself high functioning and do a lot (i garden, i hunt, i barrel race, work semi-physical jobs) but i'm having more and more problems lately.

I'm glad to have found a place i can get advice and help. :)

This list is great, and I  found a lot of symptoms here that I'm experiencing.  One thing I didn't see listed is lymph node swelling...I have read other places that some people with fibro experience that, and it's something I've been dealing with for the last few months. 

Has anyone here had lymph node swelling as part of their fibro "smorgasbord" of symptoms? 

Your daughter's experience sounds awful!  I'm fairly new to this site, but I hope you can find some help here--there is a ton of information and lots of nice people. 

Does your daughter have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or "just" chronic fatigue with her fibro?  Has she ever had swollen lymph nodes?  That's something I'm dealing with right now, and I know that's more common in CFS.
