Can Fibro cause you to heal slower?

I've had a question for many years now and was hoping everyone here could give me some insight. :D about six or seven years ago now I had a lung surgery. It didn't go well and left much scarring which may be the reason it took me an extremely long time to heal from it,but I have llingering doubts and wonder if maybe it was fibro. I was barely in my 20s at the time and my surgeon (who was a mean jerkbag) expressed his frustration with me quite often that he had seniors heal faster for similiar operations. I'm fairly certain it was his poor work,but does anyone think fibro can cause you to heal slower than a normal person would?

I've never heard anyone ask that question before. In all of the reading I've done and the years I've been on this forum, I've never heard that slow healing is a symptom, or in any way related to fibro. Now, I'm no research scientist on this topic, just passing on what I've read and seen with my own 2 eyes.

On the other hand, if you are having trouble healing have you been checked for diabetes? That's a main characteristic of the disease. Just recently I was moving some tools and dropped one. It took a nasty gouge out of my right calf, inner side. That one took over a month to heal up when years ago that would never have happened. Oh, did I mention that I'm diabetic???...lol You likely guess that by now.

You may just be correct that the blame falls back on your doctor. With his snippy attitude it sure would make me wonder. He has no reason to get frustrated with you for not healing fast enough...like you have any control over it...<sheesh>

I have have been tested for daibeties and do not have it, I do have hypoglysemia tho.(sorry if it's spelled horribly wrong.) You know I hadn't thought of the little things like cuts and bruises. I was thinking more of major surgeries. My cuts heal at normal speeds,but my bruises seem to take a bit longer than normal. It's most likely the surgery was just done wrong. The drs had to scrape the sides of the lung to get little blebs off so they did not burst and make more holes. I think the surgeon was over aggressive. He was so excited talking about how they've never seen a bleb like mine before, it was strange to him it was the greatest thing ever. I can remember how angry my mother was with his attitude. But I did see the xrays myself and the entire bottom half of the lung was almost all white. I remarked on it and was told ever so casually "oh that is scarring that won't function normally anymore there." So in my case its most likely fibro din't cause the slow healing,but I'm still a bit curious. I guess I'll never know 100%.
