Hi! Today, I have ear and jaw pain. Anyone else experience this? On my left side.

I have jaw pain every day. I think its what they call TMJ/TMD. I have to
open my mouth wide ever few minutes to pop it, else it becomes very painful. Sometimes I get a quick, stabbing pain in my ear, but not every day.

Yes!! I had non-stop pain last June for 3 months, thought I would go out of my mind. I went to the dentist first, thinking I needed a root canal because the pain was searing, burning, like an infection would manifest itself. I slept very little to begin with because of the Fibromyalgia, but with this constant burning throbbing jaw pain, I would doze for a few minutes and then wake up, all thru the night. My dentist said it was not a dental issue and sent me to my doc. My doc put on a rubber glove and stuck his hand into my mouth, asking me to promise I wouldn't bite him, LOL, and when he touched that lower jaw muscle (yes, the lower jaw muscle is the culprit from which the pain radiates upwards), I saw stars. He diagnosed it as TMJ and recommended physiotherapy at a clinic where TMJ is treated (not all physiotherapists know how to treat it). So I phoned around and found one, and had 6 heat treatments followed by excruciating pain from his massaging that jaw muscle to release that seized-up muscle in my lower jaw. Between visits, I applied the heat and did the massage at home myself the way he showed me, and the pain eventually went away.
You should get that looked after, it's not going to go away by itself and could get worse ...
blessings and peace

SignaturePink,
I had that for several years, it would come and go...as you said, only on the left side, a strong ache. (Actually, in my case, it was only my jaw.) I also went to my dentist and then an oral surgeon, and they found nothing. Ibuprofen helped for about
4 hours, so I was popping those things like candy. Then it would just be gone.
If I remember right (and that's always a toss-up!) you said that most of your pain in general is on your left side, and I said mine, too.....or maybe that wasn't you. That has always mystified me.
Well, anyway, hopefully your pain will be gone soon....

I use to get that all the time. I found out my jaw was slightly longer then the other side. It aggravated my ear so much. I went to my GP thinking I had ear problem, but it was really my jaw pain. I stop chewing gum, chips, popcorn things in that nature. I took ibprophen for inflammation. It all worked. I also found out that when I went to bed I would clamp down on my jaw for what ever reason. My dentist showed me biofeedback back. If you don't have dental insurance then it could be expensive to go. They would do that panoramic X-ray which is very high. Most of the time you can do what I listed and it will settle down. I was able to go back to my gum and chips in moderation.
