I hate these annoying rashes !!!

I was diagnosed with fibro in 2010, but have actually been dealing with it since late 2008. I'm familiar with most all of the symptoms by now, but whenever something new arrises, I'm never quite sure if it's a symptom, or a side effect from medication. ggrrr... For several years now, I've had this very annoying red rashy looking area that comes up all over my chest and neck. It especially gets worse when I get nervous, upset or angry. My neck and chest get very red and blotchy...and it even spreads out as far as down to the top of my shoulders sometimes. but the odd thing is ... it happens alot of times for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AT ALL. I'm not upset, nervous, or angry. Just sitting here...and boom!  All broken out in red blotchyness. It's so aggrivating. And it feels hot on my skin too...like there's alot of heat coming from it. I just deal with it...can't make it go away it seems. And in the last 2 years or so, I've started experencing this redness over the bridge of my nose. This happens even when my chest and neck AREN'T broken out in redness !  This is very new to me, and very odd. Looks like my nose is inflammed. Crazy looking indeed. Just out of nowhere...I get this red strip over the bridge of my nose. Eventually it goes away...but I don't know why it happens, or what causes it. When I saw the term 'butterfly rash', I read about it, and it sounded similar to what is happening to me. I have fibro and migraines. Take daily meds for both.

 Seems I get it all cleared up and enjoying the peace of it being gone,

Then wham here it is, Mine  came over the weekend, Its on my right leg

On my arms and the ones on my arm are warm, The ones on my palms they stick around long to drive

Me insane

I have tried everything been to my Gp she gave me some cream but didnt seem to help.

My doctors appt isnt until May 3 for rhuemy , I sure hope I find answers

You know I looked into that  when trying to figure out what was going

on with me, So I think I will ask the doctor about that also

Hi, Jenmac, and welcome!  I'm so glad you found us and joined in!  Red blotchy, itchy skin can be caused by hives which can be caused by anxiety and stress.  I had that happen to me and I got it all over my body!  If you are not sure what is going on, a dermatologist could help you.  They can look at a rash and tell you what it is.  Usually my dermatologist suggests the cortisone cream that you can get in the drug store.  It's far less expensive than the prescription creams.  That settles down the itching for me and the rash goes away.

 

Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.  Good starting links are called Symptoms and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia.  You will probably see yourself there.

A red rash across the nose sounds like Lupus.
Please look up Lupus rashes; there is a lupus rash specific to across the bridge of the nose.
You may have been misdx'd w/ Fibromyalgia OR
You may have both.

I do not get any rashes with fibro, but we can all be quite different..i would look for an alternative cause for the rash tho..

I get eczema, behind both ears..but thats it.. Very itchy..the creams the dr. Gave did nothing...but vit e, seems to help...

With fibro , we need to make sure, every symptom is not just considered fibromyalgia. Most have more than one issue going on.

Sometimes i wish, i don't know..was not our answer from a dr. : )
