Help!!!!!!

This is my first time on a forum I'm hopin some of u could help point me in the right direction! I've been I'll since August 2011 it started with neck pain I woke 1 Mornin with neck ache by lunchtime I couldn't turn my head the pain was unbearable I went to hospital was told it was a sprain and to go home take painkillers & rest, after a couple of weeks the pain subsided to a dull ache then after another few weeks I woke unable to swallow or speak I've never felt pain like it I was examined again and told it was my glands a viral infection the week after this I also had 2 ear infections and the pain in my neck also spread to my shoulders and I developed numbness and tingling in my feet and hands , now my symptoms are pain n spasms in my neck and shoulders I frequently have leg and hip pain I feel drained and tired all the time sometimes my whole body aches like flu..... I have had mri's ,X-rays,blood tests and lumbar puncture all came bk normal and today my neuro basically said its all in my head because the tests are clear, I know this is not in my head!!!!! I've researched fibromyalgia and think I have it but don't know where to turn to get a diagnosis I'm at my wits end so any advice would be appreciated .....thank u.....

Thanks Karen, I'm seeing my doctor tommorow I'm goin to insist I'm reffered to a rheumatologist, she hasn't been very helpful so far and the neurologist I saw today said because my tests have all come back normal it must be psychological which is very frustrating I've looked at fibro 101 very helpful thank you x
I'm on medication at the moment which is really helping but the neurologist has said today she wants me to stop takin it and will be writing to my doctor to advise this this has worried me because it's helpin to ease the pain!!!! I just hope my doctor will listen to me, fingers crossed and once again thank you :)

Its tramadol n gabapentin will update my post 2moro once I've seen doctor thank u for reading and understanding it's very much appreciated :)

Sorry you're having such issues.

What I would suggest is contacting and speaking with a good chiropractor who knows about fibromyalgia. You could be out of adjustment in different places. I know my chiropractor helped me and did things for me that no traditional doctor could. Not saying traditional doctors don't help too.

I am in the same exact boat with you, I have had so many tests done and am still in limbo as far as a diagnosis. I had a meltdown at the doctor's office last week resulting in her finally referring me to a rhuematologist. The earliest appt is in late july but for now I have to rely on Naproxen for pain!!! I don't mind the pain as much as not knowing what it is, if it's fibro or anything is, you know?!
I just wanted to let you know, you're not alone , I feel your pain. But, you need to be your own advocate, speak out to your doctor, tell her that you want a referral, look for another doctor if necessary, just don't let anyone tell you 'it's in your head'.
I hope you find your answer soon! God bless and if you ever need to vent I'm here to talk, we seem to have a lot of symptoms in common too! YAY

Thank u everyone , I'm supposed to b returning to work next week ( the bills r stacking up) my dr wasn't too happy but understands why I have to try I'm goin back partime then when I'm ready full time I wondered if u gave any tips to get me through the day I work in admin
I'm worried because I can only manage 3-4 hrs out of bed b4 the pain becomes unbearable and the fatigue takes over, if we had more savings then I wouldn't b even attempting it but I have no choice.
