Sugar I know is inflammatory. Wheat probably is too, but that would be more for people with Gluten intolerance, wouldn't it? Sorry I'm not sure. I've also read to avoid artificial sweeteners because they are chemicals, as well as MSG (and it has several names so you really have to research it to make sure you're not getting it.) Anything you eat has to be processed through your liver...that's what I've been researching lately, the connection between the liver and everything else in the body.

Very True. I used to be able to eat anything I wanted until three years ago when I got fibro. Now here are the things that put me over the top with pain: Sugar, Soda, Coffee, Wine, MSG. I started juicing veggies and fruits and also making smoothies every day for the past month or so and my pain levels are so much better that I am hardly taking any medications. Just a xanax or a flexeril once in awhile. I still love sugar,
cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream but when I get a craving I go out to the blender and make a big glass of fresh or frozen fruit smoothie. Sometimes I add some greek yogurt or alittle apple juice but mostly I just blend the fruit with alittle bottled water and enjoy. It is delicious and takes away the cravings. At least once a day I juice fresh veggies like kale, celery, cucumber, carrots or whatever I have. My fibro has calmed down, my arthritis joints are more flexable. I believe nutrition is the answer. My goal is to do a juice fast for about
10 or more days but I haven't gotten that far yet. I see a doctor that is a regular M.D. but also a homepathic dr and he said he will monitor my fast when I am ready. My blood pressure has been up since I had 4 steroid injections and three rounds of predisone in the past year. They do cause high blood pressure, or high blood sugar in some people and I want to try to get it down naturally before going on medication and my dr is giving me the chance. P.S. I don't plan on any more steroids if I can avoid them. If you get a chance watch the film "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". I bought my copy from Amaxon. It is life changing.

You might even take that up a notch by buying organic fruits and vegetables to keep the pesticides out of your diet. A friend lent me her juicer and I haven't even tried it yet. I need to get on the ball. We did find a really good indoor farmers' market with fantastic prices so I need to get over there too and crank that juicer up! I have made some smoothies in my blender. I just make it up and it's fun to see what I get. It's never been bad!

I started feeling better after eliminating sugar and wheat and dairy from my diet.
The sugar makes me feely icky and flu like nauseousness. The wheat makes me feel
achy and the dairy gives me diarrhea and gas.
To satisfy my eternal sweet tooth I have some dark chocolate or fruit and thankfully
in this day and age there are many substitutes for wheat. Dairy I just stay away from dairy
except for goat feta cheese to add flavor to salads and such.
Juicing is a wonderful way to get nutrients into your system quickly, but I like the crunchiness
of food so after trying the juicing I went back to eating the whole food.
Good luck on your quest to feel better.

I have not been able to really try juicing; I am fructose intolerant, and must stay away from fruit as much as possible. Without fruits, I feel like veggie juice might not be that great.
I have eliminated (99% at least) wheat, dairy, and sweeteners (brown sugar, molasses, etc.), sugar alcohols, and beans/legumes. A lot of this has to do with my IBS, but I am hoping it will in turn help my FM.
camas, I also have a little dark chocolate; its one of the only sweets I can find that have versions that are suited to my needs.

Personally, I have to stay away from Gluten alcohol and sugar (even natural sugars in fruit I have to limit) or all my symptoms are exacerbated. You know, all the fun foods
