Personally, I don't think there is that perfect balance. I just know that things work out better for me if I listen to what my body is telling me.
Being stubborn and driven I've pushed through and kept going when I needed to stop...very unwise. I know better but think it is just me rebelling at times.
How many times have you paid for overdoing and ended up flaring? I am slowly learning to let things go...things don't always have to be perfect...good enough is working for me more than ever. I continue to keep myself busy but am forcing myself to take breaks.
Taking care of ourselves should be a priority. Just because we can't do like we once did does not mean we are slackers.
Being open and honest with our family and friends about how we are feeling...asking for help when we need it is important. Chronic pain and fatigue does have a huge impact on how we function...we should never feel guilty about that.
Taking it one day at a time, trying to follow my basic routine of getting some exercise, eating healthy, doing things I enjoy and last but not least be thankful for my blessings helps me.
Wishing us all great days ahead!
Hugs, Robin
