Hi, Chili and Vivaldi, and welcome! Vivaldi gave great information. Chili, I think you are just developing some of the symptoms of fibro. When we think of getting worse....I think they mean the pain. I get heart palpitations occasionally but didn't have them in the beginning of the illness. I was thoroughly checked out and that helped me.
Anxiety can contribute to this illness. Try to get a grip on that and also stress. Stress will cause more pain. Fibro's pain waxes and wanes, too. You will have bad periods and then have some better periods. If your pain gets worse and worse, you need to be checked out to see what is going on. This happened to me this winter. My pain was excessive and I almost couldn't lift my feet off the ground due to shooting pains down my legs. I saw a rheumatologist for the first time and after a millions tests and x-rays, I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis...along with fibro. I'm being treated for that and am so much better all the way around. So, don't think fibro is causing every symptom you have. If you have a symptom that you are not sure about you can check here and see if we have dealt with it. Always let your doctor know what is going on too.
I've had fibro for over 25 years and have had a full and enjoyable life in spite of it. You will find ways to work around it to do what you want to do. I try everything. I do not tell myself that I can't do anything. I surprise myself many times by accomplishing things I thought were impossible....like my spreading 99 bags of mulch in my gardens all by myself. I just paced myself (took me 2 weeks to accomplish this). Sure I had a little extra pain but I was using muscles that haven't been used in a while. I sure gave myself a pat on the back for that and, as you can see, I still am!
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links are called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourselves there.
I'm looking forward to getting to know both of you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
