Hi FMily,

I woke up yesterday and noticed scaley plaques of skin on my chest. Coincidentally, I had a doc appt. She also diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis. See, we cldnt figure out where my high inflammation numbers were coming from....well, now I know. Although, I'm not pleased there's possibility of joints worsening, not to mention psorias, I am happy to have the whole picture now. Any of you suffer from psoriatic arthritis? Id love to learn what worx for u. Thanks....

I am sorry you have this. Do keep us posted on how you are doing. It is nice to know what you are up against. And how to control it. I hope it doesn't give you a lot of extra added pain.

It just amazes me how so many diagnoses are tied with fibro. I have to read up on this myself. I hope it doesn't add too much discomfort to you. Thanks for sharing. The more each of us learn the healthier and stable we become.

Thank you, guys. You are so encouraging. I'm so happy to finally have found a doc who really cares. She's a naturopath doc.

Today was first day on new treatment plan. I do feel a little better actually. I hope it lasts. I've connected with a good friend who is letting me do water aerobics in her pool and also giving me access to her hot tub. Thank goodness cause all the public gyms and even the ymca was expensive....guess I'm just feeling like I have the big picture and I'm so ready for greater wellness.

I'm so grateful for my fibro family. I appreciate the continued input.

Misty, I was recently diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which is in the same family of diseases as psoriatic arthritis.  They are both autoimmune illnesses.  I was diagnosed by my rheumatologist...and he is wonderful, too.  The good news is that now you will be on the right medication to help you feel better.  I know I feel better since being treated for this.

 

I hope you get a handle on this illness, too, and keep on keeping on!
