Sources for Malic Acid?

I've been getting my Malic Acid from Puritan's Pride, as Sherrine has suggested. I went to reorder recently and I couldn't find it. I got on their online chat and asked about it and I was told they discontinued that product due to low demand. They put me on their request list and maybe if they get enough requests they may carry it again.

Meantime, I need some more soon and I need to find a good source. Does anyone know of another good source of Malic Acid? I've been doing good with the stuff I ordered from Puritan, so I'm hoping to get similar quality.

Oh no! I'm glad to know that, though, so I can get on the list too.

How many people on this forum alone take it, I wonder? Maybe we can tilt the scales in our favor!

What does it do?

Never mind I researched it. Does it cause any of you stomach issues?

I spoke with their representative and they told me that they are having problems getting in the supplies needed to make it. It is temporarily discontinued. As soon as they get what they need to make it, it will be back. I don't know where that chat room got that info. Call them yourself and ask.

When I phoned a while back, they took my name and, if I remember correctly, my order number. They said they would let me know if the product would return. This was before Sherrine contacted their representative, who seemed to have better info--more like WHEN the product would return.
Maybe it's time for me to contact them again. Right now I'm relying on magnesium, rather than malic acid.

When I first started my quest to find relief from my fm I ordered the malic acid and magnesium from Puritan but my body could not handle tha malic acid. It caused massive stomache issues for me and then my dr changed my meds around do had to stop the magnesium as well. I know we are all different in what helps us, it would be a shame for everyone if they stopped making it.

I saw where you can buy it in powdered form in a bag at nuts.com.

I'm not sure if that's a safe way of taking it though.

I like the one by Swanson that has D-Ribose and some Magnesium in it. Powder form you mix in a drink, it has no flavor of its own. D-Ribose is a sugar made by the body that regulates ATP production and manages muscle pain.

WARNING: Do not take this product if you are pregnant or nursing, hypoglycemic or diabetic. Discontinue use if you experience gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea or headache.

Luvzminis, the malic acid in the link you posted is 500 mg per tablet.  Puritan's is 825 per tablet.  You would need to take five of these a day for them to be effective since studies showed help after 2,400 mg.  Also the forum of magnesium they use is magnesium hydroxide aka Milk of Magnesia!  Yikes!  Puritan's version uses magnesium malate that is good for fibro.  Don't think I'll be ordering these anytime soon.  Below is from Livingstrong.

Magnesium hydroxide, also known as milk of magnesia, and magnesium sulfate, frequently called Epsom salts, are also used as saline laxatives, explains Dr. P. Thomas Riley of the University of Mary Washington. Magnesium malate is used to treat a painful muscle condition called fibromyalgia. Magnesium glycinate is a form of magnesium that is less likely to cause diarrhea and is often used to treat magnesium deficiency.
