I have always been a word person. So when i forget a word or use the wrong ones i really get frustrated. Since my strokes, i have to take more time to come up with right word. During speech therapy, one of the tasks was to id items like a spoon, a screwdriver. etc and sometimes to use them in a sentence. I remember one of the hardest was pill bottle. It is scary. I could not remember my husband's name!
When i do it now, i wonder, is it the effects or stroke or fibro.
Dh is a math person, so words are not his thing. He uses the wrong words all the time and forget things. I tease, him i am the one with fibro fog and brain damage not him. The other night i had to ask him how to spell a simple word. The times i have had to ask him to spell something because i did not know how over our 30 years together could be counted on one hand. Not bragging, just fact.
Today, in my fog: i went to get a diet dr pepper. Put it on the counter and forgot about it when i saw the sandwich meat. I got some meat out and another drink. As i started to leave room, saw the other one on counter.
