Hello! Just wondering if anyone from Canada has applied for disability benefits and how it turned out for them? Or for the Disability Tax Benefit? Has anyone gone through The National Benefit Authority, if so how did it go? Not sure if it's legit or not...
I can't work because of the Fibro, IBS, depression and anxiety and I'm now out of employment insurance. I was thinking about applying for AISH but I'm unsure if my doctor will fill out the forms for me, she says that I can work but I tried getting back on the subbing teacher assistant list where I worked and they said I cannot have any restrictions and my doctor put I cannot lift, push or pull. So I can't even sub for a few days a week.
I want to work but I'm scared I'll get fired or end up quitting because I can't work or miss work too much. I have a background in working with special needs children and I have my speech assistant diploma but working with special needs children is a lot of work and takes a lot of energy which I do not have. They expect you to lift them, diaper them, or restrain them if they are out of control and I can't do that anymore. You pretty much have to have the same energy as they do, which is a lot!
I'm very frustrated and I do not like having to rely on others to pay my bills for me, which my boyfriend has been doing since I haven't been able to work, he's amazing, but I feel extremely guilty and horrible and stress out about it all the time. I'm worried that he will start to feel resentment towards me if he has to keep paying my bills for me.
Fibro is so unpredictable it's hard to lead a half normal life let alone work at a full time job for 40 hours a week!
Thanks for reading and please share any information!! I'd really appreciate it!
