I never thought I would be begging for snow. Last year we had a record year, but this year we have one inch. The problem is that we have clear skies with no clouds. So it's extremely cold temperatures, especially in the morning. It's -25 to -5 for the day. This is the first time in a long time that I actually hurt when I get up. I been taking extra ibprophen to keep the pain under control. We're down to little daylight now. My sad light has been a life savor for me. I leave it on all day. Lol. All I can do now is dream of my Florida vacation in July. It can't be soon enough! Does anybody want to trade houses? Lol

Nope! You couldn't get me to Alaska without hog tying me first and I don't think you could catch me to do it....zooooom!

I'll trade with you!!! Then I could find me an Alaskan bachelor (there still have to be some leftover from the Oprah show! LOL)...

I hear that!!! the weather effects!! and I feel them, very much. However, I find if the weather is constant then its much better, the changes are what get to me. The disparity between night and day can be so hard. We are a bit further south than you (Alberta) but we have tons of snow and the temp varies between zeroC and minus 16C most days ... but we do get down to -25 C (I think that is the temp whereabouts the Fahrenheit and Celsius gradients merge) on occasion, just not yet ... so its very pretty out there with all the fluffly white stuff, just darn windy and cold! Its sooo sunny and bright and that is the saving grace.
I imagine a warm cocoon to enfold you!

Um no thanks. I moved from SW Ohio to escape that white stuff. I detest it. Not even winning gazillions of $$$ could convince me to go be in snow.

But you are more than welcome to visit me here in Fl if you ever do come!

Come down under... weather is perfect right now... and have we ever mentioned the mean temperature in most capital cities in winter never drops to less than 0.

And we have free healthcare for everyone... :P

I don't think anybody dispises snow / cold / rain more than me ! Fortunately, it almost never snows in my part of Nor Cal (maybe 1/2" every 10 years ?) but then, if a person wanted to, they could drive 3 hrs and have all the snow they want in the Sierra mountains.

You couldn't pay me enough to drive in that $%$# though !

I already couldn't wait for Spring, in October !

Winter is like going to an icy hell for 6 months !

Oh, did I mention, I hate snow ? ;) LOL

Me too, can't believe what a big baby I am. We desperately need moisture in Colorado, but when I hear we're supposed to actually get some snow tomorrow, my first impulse is to whine! Low of 18 degrees?! No fair!!!

I guess I shoudn't complain because upper north of Alaska is -50 -70 below. It's just a 4 hour drive. This city is called fairbanks Alaska and they just got voted for a best place for the winter to visit. I guess because you can experience the -70 temps, stay in an ice motel, watch the Northern Lights, see wildlife, competition from around the world of ice carving an more. They will take you out in a land rover to see the beautiful Northern lights. You got the money, it can be done.

My Dr's use to tell me that I really need to move because I use to have severe pain. I guess my blood finally got thick enough. LOL

WOW. The temps up there just blow my mind. I guess you would have to have thicker blood! Yeeech! Well, you're dealing with it. My hat's off to you!

Too early for snow around here, but many midwest and northern areas are really suffering from a lack of water and a lack of snowpack. Snow actually insulates against the cold, to a certain extent.

Myself- that is our problem no snow and no insulation. Pipes freezing more. Even city pipes breaking. Can you believe it, my husband is going to do the polar bear plunge. His coworkers are going to do it too. It's all going to charity for special Olympics. I am worried for him. Just crazy!

It's invigorating! Well, slightly crazy, but it can actually get your blood moving.

I used to do it as a kid in New Hampshire.
