date/RX question

It's been a while and I apologize for that! I hope everyone is doing well!

I have a question. I had all of my meds filled on December 5 (previously it was November 5 and so on) With December having 31 days in the month, my 30 days are up today, Jan 4. I just went to the pharmacy to pick up all my meds and the gal behind the counter looked at me like I had 2 heads. She said "it's not the 5th yet. You can pick up your meds tomorrow"

I tried to point out to her (politely) that December has 31 days, so it throws off the whole "5" thing by a day. She either wasn't smart enough to understand or was just being rude.

I called my rheumy's office and spoke to my nurse. She said she actually called in my meds on the 2nd of January and she said she never puts a specific date on things can be filled.

So... do I sound like an idiot here? Am I wrong that December 5 to January 4 = 30 days? As much as I hate to say it, I'm tempted to switch pharmacies.

My insurance allows refills (even on narcotics) after 21 days. I never take advantage of that, though. It's just my personal habit of picking up on the 30th day. Honestly my belief is the pharmacy, which is a mom n pop type (I live in a small town) and they don't have an auto refill program.
I may just have to call a big box store in the next town over and have my rx's transferred over. I hate to not support a small business, but I hate not getting my meds on the proper date too. LOL

I'd talk with the manager. This employee is keeping meds you need away from you. You have run out while taking them as directed, too. Let them know they will lose your business if this continues.

I can get my prescriptions filled after 25 days, even though I get a 30 day supply. I do get them filled a little earlier so I have a few extra on hand in case of an emergency. When my doctor hasn't called in the prescription renewals in a timely fashion, my pharmacy will give me a three day supply to last until the doctor does call it in. They contact his office, too. They would never leave me without my medication.

That's a shame. That pharmacist will hurt business badly. Not everything is black and white.
