I have been recently. I am post menapause, but I think that has something to do with it. Lately I have been having them every night. Very uncomfortable, hot flashes too. How old is your wife, I had them in my 40's bad. I am 54 now...

I've been struggling with nightsweats for years.
How I handle dealing with mine is to wear in the colder weather silk long johns from Winter Silks. It helps to absorb the sweat when those nights happen before the sweat gets on my bed sheet.

You're welcome, Karen.
The long johns from Winter Silks come I believe in 3 different varieties depending on how warm you want the silk material. I should look into wearing mine year round because I never know when I'll sweat.

I have spans of night sweats as well. I am in mid forties, so think it is pre-menopausal as well. And "Cuddle Duds" are also a great, light silk longjohn. They have all different styles now too! : )

If she's menopausal have her take the herb for hot flashes. You can find it at any store.

Hello, I'm new to the forum, but suffer from night sweats/sleep sweats. Tends to be before my period mostly. Am only 33 so don't think I'm pre menopausal yet .. however do think its hormonal related. I got a womans supplement which I plan to start to see will it help .

Here's an article, Kaylem, that talks about
fibromyalgia and nightsweats:

Kaylem,
Hi. I get nightsweats at times, too. I'm pretty lucky that way, though....mine have been minimal.
Why don't you start a new thread to introduce yourself? That way more people would probably notice you're new...

Tramadol (Ultram) can cause night sweats. I notice my menopausal night sweats were greatly reduced after I quit taking tramadol.

Hi all, thank you for all the info. Maggie is definitely post-menopausal, she never had night sweats while going thru menopause. So this is an entirely new symptom. @Deepwell, thank you for the compliment. This is the 2nd time around for both of us and there is nothing I would not do to help her or to make her happy. I am sorry your ex was so unresponsive to your needs. Maggie and I have learned that our marriage is a partnership. I cater to her needs and she caters to my needs, my first marriage was very one-sided. Maggie is truly my "gift from God", that is why I am trying so hard to find answers for her. I asked her if the night sweats coincided with the time her period would have occurred and she said no. So, I guess I am kind of lost, also all this week her pain level has increased dramatically. She is taking Savella 25mg once a day along with the Magnesium and Folic Acid supplements. If she increases the Savella she gets horribly nauseous to the point of throwing up. She is also taking Gabapentin 300mgs x 3 per day to help with the pain. She plans on increasing it to 6 per day. To make matters worse, we just got a new mattress and box spring that is much firmer to compensate for my Spinal Stenosis. She does NOT believe the pain is associated with the new mattress and box spring. Anybody have ANY ideas?

How about
adding a 2 inch piece of memory foam to her side to soften it for her? It won't affect the whole bed too much but will soften her side a little.
