Weaning off Gralise help

So after a year of chronic pain which lead to fibro diagnosis i am weaning off meds.  i still had the pain and added side effects.  so i am weaning off gralise (timed release gabapentin).  first lowered dose, not any side effects.  second lowered dose brings dizziness and shortness of breath and full body RLS.  it's been a week.  I don't want to take the next step down till my body adjust to this. does anyone have any suggestions to ease withdrawal?

Amydayle- I have weaned off many meds and went through many withdrawls. It can be rough, but if you can wait it out without substitute another drug it's worth it. I know I had anxiety during the weaning face. It's not fun. If you can distract yourself and at night I sometimes watch movie after movie until I fell asleep. I weaned off sleep meds and now I sleep very well. I was getting too dependent on them.

Hi, Amydale. Sorry for what you're going through. I'm on Gabapentin myself, so this is a subject that interests me...and I don't look forward to the process! My doctor says I'll wean off Hydrocodone first and then Gabapentin (I've been on them following spine surgery.) I guess with the timed-release you can't just cut smaller and smaller pieces, is that right?

the Gralise is taken in three pills at night. 600 mg each. i got off one with not much trouble. i did cave in and took my two last night and i feel so much better. not sure what i'm gonna do to ween down to one. i have an apt with my rhuemy in two weeks and will talk to him and maybe i can use regular gabapentin pills as well and step down 300 mg at a time instead of the 600. i want to talk to him first because the Gralise carries a warning not to take with other forms of gabapentin.
