I think many of us are trying to limit our exposure to chemicals, especially with having fibro.

Do you make your own cleaners?  I am trying to find a good anti-bacterial all-purpose cleaner that's natural. 

We usually shop at Wal-Mart, and in looking at their website, I see they have a brand called "Earth Friendly."  The reviews I read were very positive.  Does anyone use this brand--or do you know of another natural cleaner from Wal-Mart that you could recommend?

Also, is it true vinegar is good for germ killing?  I know many people clean with that.

Water down your vinegar. I keep it in a spray bottle for counter and stove cleaning daily.

I use the Seventh Generation brand. I also use this brand of laundry soap.

I have multiple chemical sensitivity. I don't do well around chemicals.

In our house we use Method for hand soap, dish soap and most cleaning products.  Method was created specifically to clean well without the hard chemical smells and effects.

Half my home has tile floors and I only use vinegar and water when mopping them. Been here for fifteen years and my floors look good. I was told to do this by the tile store because any soap, etc. leaves a residue that can trap dirt.

I've heard of the Seventh Generation brand, but have yet to check them out.

The Method brand is new to me, though in doing a search this morning, I came across it. Will also check this out.

I think I'll start with the vinegar/water mix. It sounds easy and not harsh, like "flowery" chemicals.

Vinegar is great. It's what my grandma and great-grandma used. To clean windows they'd use the vinegar and water solution in a spray bottle, spritz the windows, and use crumpled newspaper to wipe it.

I also clean my fruits and veggies with a water and vinegar solution.

Vinegar and water is what my doctor recommended for me to clean my Cpap. So I assume it's good for germ fighting.

I use vinegar and water, too. It's great for cleaning and vinegar has lots of uses. My husband accidentally melted a plastic container on the stove. I cleaned it up but the smell lingered. We used a vinegar mixture in bowls and that really helped kill the smell.

Chain stores can be wildly inconsistent with what they carry, too. My local walmart has nothing natural-believe me, I've looked. They also carryvery little in the way of turkey or poultry meats like sausage, bacon, etc. That I kind of get, because I live in pork-central, and they have to supportthe local economy. But even the Palmolive brands of 'natural' dish soap, forget it.

My guess is they have enough other competition thatmy local is really catering to more basic shoppers, or lower-income. In other places, walmart may be well stocked, since it is the only game on town.

I ONLY use Method. My daughter in law turned me onto the product several years' ago and I am addicted to it! I LOVE the fragrances and they do a great job of cleaning, anything from windows to floors, ceramic tile, wood floors, stainless steel, bathroom cleaners and the price is pretty reasonable. Oh, hand soap, dishwashing soap, laundry soap and dishwashing machine soap! Target sells the full line. I highly recommend it! Also cleaner for the shower and a daily spray to use after a shower which smells heavenly!

Sherrine, what part vinegar and what part water do you use?

I just read the WD 40 is a good cleaner and will clean glass shower doors. It's made of - guess what? - fish oil!

Really? Fish oil? Wow; I did not know that!! So you can get your daily intake of omega 3 while showering? hhahah

I cannot even walk down the supermarket aisle of cleaners or into a nail salon because of my MCS. I use baking soda for tons of cleaning issues at home, including teeth, and vinegar and water for others. The more natural the better it is for us all around.
