I get visual disturbances.

examples.

i guess its shifty eyesight. it seems like my eyesight shifts from side to side at times.

ill be looking at something and then its like whatever im looking at moves.

sometimes eyesight gets a little blurry or foggy.. this comes on intermitintly.

kind of hard to explain some of the disturbances.

i do get headaches also, maybe related to headaches.

im due to see an doctor for an eye exam, ill ask him.

Yes, it drives me nuts sometimes! In fact, I've written about this, and other people have said they experience it too. But the particulars differ from person to person.


With me, it's all the time. But not everything "moves"....it's very predictably anything that repeats in a pattern, whether it's wallpaper, clothing, a picture, the lines on the highway (and motion makes it worse, in that case.) I won't buy shirts that have geometric prints, even though I might like them - it's worse if there's a lot of contrast from light to dark.


And writing in certain colors - especially orange-red on a turquoise background (go figure) - just swim before my eyes and makes me feel sick! ??


They tell me my eyes are "perfect" - so I guess it's a brain thing. I have migraines, too, though nothing like I used to. (There has to be SOMETHING good about getting old! ;) Most doctors I've mentioned it to just shrug. One neurologist told me that migraine is a condition you have all the time, and thinks all this could be related to that. So, I just try to avoid looking at things that mess with my head.


Actually, what you're describing sounds to me like the aura I get before a migraine. In that case, everything in one eye moves - kind of shimmers - and I get zig-zags like lightning on a TV weather map. It eventually spreads to include my whole vision...I get really dizzy and nauseous, and have learned to close my eyes. When that goes away, usually in about 20 minutes, the pain starts. I used to live in fear of those nasty things.


I hope your doctor helps you figure it out. Maybe you can do something for yours.

I have had eye issues for a few years now but mine is more out of focus problems but only in parts of my field of vision and the out of focus moves all the time, that coupled with "floaties" can make my life a misery especially as I use a computer all day at work. I have been to an optometrist and she couldn't find anything wrong and said there is no reason for what I "see", my prescription hadn't changed yet my eyes are telling me different.
I also have problems with my neck which feels like I have a stiff neck and can lead to migraine type headaches.

yes my vision changes when my ears are ringing

Thanks achey body, maybe your right, maybe it is some kind of aura, i do get headaches.

my neurologist told me all about migraines, this may just a varient of that, i should run it by him.

couchtater: Maybe headache related, could be, i get ringing in my ears ofter, even sudenn hearing loss but only for a short time.thanks!

ozzieshaz: My eyes were examined two years ago, totally perfect. im due for an exam now, so ill run it by the opthalmologist. I too have black floaties, ive had them since i was in my early twenties. I guess they are normal but anoying at time. sometimes i thing i see something move out of the corner of my eye but its probably just the floater.
