I now cant stand my bra at all! Unfortunately, I am a good ole whoopin' size, so I kinda need one, and with under wire. My doctor recently asked if I could get a reduction, because of all my back pain! I looked at him and said "Good luck with that on Medicare and Medicaid. But if you succeed I'll finally lose that 60lbs you wanted me to lose." He looked at me, then down, and agreed I'd probably lose a lot of weight. He said probably 40 to 50lbs lol. So my question is... what in the world can I do to get some comfort?? I certainly can't go to work, store, etc without em bolder holders. And it is bolders for me! First thing I do when I get in, it flies off now. Any advice much appreciated.. Darn fibro had to make tight things horrid on me and darn em Yon-Ju-Hachi DD's Ok my friend with the Japanese husband you can translate that ... just to embarrassed to ask as it is..

i am also a 42ddd! and i am also one of those people who takes the bra off immediately upon walking in my front door. i buy my bras at lane bryant and i really like them, as far as bras go. the ones that i buy are around $38 but they often have buy one get one half off (no dirty jokes there!) or buy 2 get 1 free. they have tons of different styles so i had to try on a few until i felt like i found one that was a good match for me. every time they have a sale i usually get a black, beige, and off-white one.

I'm just a D, but I hate my bra too.
I try to avoid wearing them around the house.
If the size is causing you pain and back issues then they should cover the surgery.

I'm 48DD.. hey there is a Lane Bryant or so there was in the city in the mall.
I keep hearing about Kohls, and I have no clue where it is. Oh NM I googled Kohls, there is one in the city. Us folks inthe goonies has no hospital, no grocery store, no life, commute to whereever and go to the city at least 3 times a week! Hence the city is where everything is. I never thought of asking the teaching hospital. Here I keep recommending the one I go to, since I got sick and needed chemo and I never think of it there. I go to the nearest teaching hospital, a good 5 hours on bus one way. I wont drive that far. So I take bus in, and usually will just stay up there the night then come back. I'll check with Kohl's and Lane Bryant's when I go to the city. Its a 35 minute drive to the city, so I try to get all things done at the same time. Thak you for the suggestions! What materials are best?

My favorite bra was from Wally world. Playtex comfort strap with soft cup support. It has a built in cloth half cup that provides extra support. They don't dig into you. I just can't stand the pressure around my ribs after awhile.

36/38HH here!! I am not working right now so I can relax a bit but still need something. It sounds crazy probably but I got some of the genie bras (have to get the 2/3x). Around the house and days when I am tender I will wear one of those and a stretchy tank. I also like the lacy styled bra from Lane Bryant when I am out in public or feel I need more support. I WISH I could wear a bra from Wally world..

I am begining to wonder if fibromites are known to have large breast. Just the ones that responded made me think of this. When I was young and lots thinner I still had DDD breast. I had a breast reduction many years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I have gained lots of weight and of course I have put some on the girls. Lol I just replaced my bras because they were hurting me from the underwire. I can tell if they start to wear out. I went with no underwire this time.

I think it is and the Fibro is aggravated by the back problems caused from carrying such a load.

I would love to have mine reduced but now I'm concerned about the pain from surgery causing a Fibro flare. So even if I find a way to have it done I'm not sure it would be a good decision.

Catherines (Lane Bryant's older sister) LOL...Anyway, Catherines has bras that work like an underwire but aren't. They are really the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. They are called Seranada. The back is 5 tabs. They measured me themselves and told me I wear a 48DD. I had been wearing up to 52DDs. It was a tight fit at first and I went and bought some 50 Ds because I didn't really believe them and just wasn't used to the snug fit, but now that I have gotten used to the 48DDs, they are so very comfortable that I can wear them all day long. They don't even ride up! Catherine's is like Lane Bryant in that they usually have bras on sale for buy one, get one half off.

I'm not real busty, but kind of, and I wear sports bras. The whole thing is stretchy, and it doesn't seem to bother the really sore areas AS MUCH. It still hurts, but it's better. I am not overweight, so someone without my fibromyalgia body, being my size might wear a medium size, but I get at least a large or an extra large is even better, in case it shrinks when I wash it. I have to find just the right happy condition of support without holding onto "them"real firmly. I have seen XXL's in stores occasionally. My friend used to be very busty. She is overjoyed with her reduction. Right now, I don't think having surgery would help my pain though because I am not all that big.

I'm an Aussie 12G, which I think is a 34G in US sizing.   My draw is FULL of bras that I thought would be comfy and have long since been abandoned.     The things that normally help me are a nice low underwire, rather than those ones that extend all the way up, and a cup that sits forwards rather than off to the side. A good, thick back band is a must as well. Anything under three hooks worth is a waste of time. It’ll dig in and pull like mad.   I’ve tried padded straps… Honestly I don’t see the point. A soft shoulder strap is more comfy for me than a padded one.     I also love racer backs, the weight being pulled diagonally across the shoulders helps to keep them from falling forwards, so you wind up standing straighter. They’re not for everyone, but racer backs seem to miss most of my sore spots.     My favourite bra is a Triumph sports bra. The underwire sits low, even though the cup sits pretty high. The back is wide, and sits very low, and it’s a racer back.     That all said, I take my bras off the second I get home. Because they are all evil, without exception.     Especially Ahh Bras and Genie Bras. Even if I can get one my boobs will fit in, they some how manage to be less supportive than not wearing bra at all.
