I heard about this article (which reviewed research of SNRIs in the treatment of fibro) last month but just read it this morning. I found it quite interesting:

According to the authors, "The SNRIs duloxetine and milnacipran provided a small incremental benefit over placebo in reducing pain." Duloxetine is Cymbalta, and milnacipran is Savella.
For those who do receive relief that outweighs the side effects of these meds, I'm sure that taking them is more than worth it. I'm no scientist, but it appears, though, according to this abstract, that that number may be small.
No judgement on meds one way or the other from me. I just thought the article was interesting.
