Hi, Wellsie, and welcome! Well, I think we all have dealt with muscle spasms and the hip pain that has like nerve pain running down your leg could be sacroiliitis or even disc problems. I had that type pain in the groin of both legs last year and it turned out to be a type of rheumatoid arthritis of my spine. I have had the muscles spasming in my throat to the point I couldn't swallow but I could talk. I discovered that if I coughed, it relaxed the muscles and I could swallow again. BUT I needed to keep anxiety at bay. I suffered with anxiety many years ago and have pretty much conquered it so when it raised it's ugly head, I was ready to dismiss it. I'm so thankful I can do that now. Anxiety can be paralyzing but I don't think I need to tell you that. But keep working on it. You can overcome a lot of the anxiety.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links are called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there.
There is a link in Fibro 101 about Serotonin Syndrome and this possibly could be the reason for your most recent symptoms. There are certain drugs and combination of drugs that can cause you to have too much serotonin in your system and it can be dangerous in some cases. From what I see, you are taking possibly three of these medications! Cymbalta is one. It's an SSNRI. Then you are taking a pain medication with Vicodin. Lastly, if you are taking Mucinex DM, the DM stands for dextromethorphan and that can cause a rise in the serotonin. If you go to Fibro 101 it will explain all this to you and also symptoms. There are several links about this under the Serotonin Symdrome link because this is very important. I'm not a doctor but some of what you have told us made me think of this so do check it out.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
