Recently, my physical therapist remarked that our bodies are not symmetrical...we have organs on one side or the other, for instance...so why expect them to feel the same? I found this interesting since I've been conscious of the sides feeling different for as long as I can remember.
She showed me a stretch to do when my right side "shrinks up," and that leg ends up shorter than the other. The problem originates in my sacrum, when it gets irritated for whatever reason. That used to send me to the chiropractor to the tune of $20 a "crack," $55 when I'd used up my yearly quota. This stretch isn't perfect, but it does help. :)
So I guess the spine surgery actually saved me money!
Ok, maybe not. But I like the fact that I can do something to help myself rather than someone else always doing it.
